License: Please be careful about accuracy[edit]

Please be careful about licensing statements about the license icon. The front page of its marketing website says it is released under an un-named "Creative Commons" license, but follows that up with specific licensing terms that are not in *any* of the licenses released by the Creative Commons. There are several sources that erroneously claim it is under the CC-BY-SA license, but there's no evidence that was ever true.

More generic topic on icons of this type[edit]

Since this symbol is not universally adopted, perhaps it would be better to have a more generic article on all sorts of c:Category:Translation icons.--Pharos (talk) 18:08, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest that this topic be expanded to Translation icons, and probably also incorporate Flag icons for languages.--Pharos (talk) 11:36, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
