Beautiful people[edit]

I just removed a blurb saying that Oleynik was one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1997. She wasn't actually one of the 50. I assume this was taken from imdb.com, where it says under the trivia section of her bio that she was a leader for some sort of "People" readership poll. While she is pretty, this sort of poll isn't really notable. I also removed a sentence that said she was widely regarded as one of the most beautiful people in the world... beyond the poll, this really isn't verifiable and comes off as fan-talk. --NymphadoraTonks 17:53, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Weird. I remember when this happened. I never actually saw proof, though. KVenzke 04:59, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alex Mack won us over...

GA feedback[edit]

Almost there I think, but why do the two sentences in 'personal life' have their own section? Either that section should be expanded or the info merged into other sections. Worldtraveller 20:45, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be ok if I just merged them all into one paragraph (i.e. the personal life paragraph). Mad Jack O'Lantern 21:00, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They just don't seem sufficient to me to warrant their own section unless more is added to it. The first would surely go happily in 'early life', while the second could easily go in 'career', I would have thought. Worldtraveller
Fair enough. I just spread them around the article and killed off the section. Mad Jack O'Lantern 21:08, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Made it a GA. Seems to pass all criteria well enough. Cvene64 12:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Merci beaucoup! Mad Jack O'Lantern 18:02, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, this should have been done before, but please add fair-use rationales to the images and make sure the licenses are correct. Thanks. Cvene64 06:46, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, the personal life text is a not as well written as the rest of the article. Cvene64 15:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I made a few minor changes, mainly style. (box w/ smaller image, ex. links under own heading, moved education sentance into paragraph and wikified the films, though most don't have articles, hey should probably be wikified). i don't think much more can be written about her, so good job. Cvene64 09:29, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that! And for the compliment Mad Jack O'Lantern 13:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Periodicals[edit]

Say, do we even need these here? If we did that for every celeb article, someone like Jennifer Aniston would have hundreds listed. It seems kind of pointless, unless we're citing one as a source. So, I'll move them to discussion for now. Mad Jack 08:56, 17 June 2006 (UTC) Larisa Oleynik has been featured in a number of periodicals, most in the mid-to-late 1990s. GA reassessment[edit]

After reading through this article, I'm delisting it as a GA for the following reasons:

  • The amount of information in the article is rather minimal, I'm sure there's a way to expand the article.
  • The amount of references is small as well.
  • Virtually all the references give a 404 error (except #s 4 and 8)

If this all can be fixed, then it can be re-nominated at GAN. Wizardman 00:20, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate[edit]

I read the note for the birthdate in the Early life and education section, and based on it, WP:DOB and WP:BLPPRIMARY I'm removing the birthdate. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:40, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
