Education[edit]

It would help the article if the infobox information on his education and everything else were mentioned in the article with reliable secondary sources. The infobox is designed as an at-a-glance concise summary of the article's important points. Elizium23 (talk) 23:53, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Flag icon[edit]

@Gri3720: I am curious why the Holy See flag supposedly represents the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre which is an independent organization — yes, under the patronage of the Holy See, but separate from it. Separately governed, and a Grand Prior in Jerusalem — you could just as easily use an Israeli flag for indicating them. MOS:FLAGRELEVANCE says that flags should be highly relevant to the organization. I did not intend to point at "subnational flag" usage because the Holy See is not subnational. I would also be interested to see other places where this flag is used to indicate the OESSH, and any discussion that may have led to consensus on it. • @Elizium23: According the the OESSH article itself (and including a reliable source, i.e. the order's own website), "The order's status was further enhanced by Pope John Paul II in 1996, when, in addition to its canonical legal personality, it was given civil legal personality in Vatican City State, where it its headquartered. An amendment to the Constitution of the Order was approved by Pope John Paul II simultaneously with that concession of Vatican legal personality for the order.[1]" Also from the same source, "The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem is the only lay institution of the Vatican State charged with the task of providing for the needs of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and of all the activities and initiatives to support the Christian presence in the Holy Land." I do not think any discussion of consensus is relevant here. Was there discussion that led to a consensus that the Holy See flag is not the appropriate flag? --Gri3720 (talk) 19:47, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gri3720, but you are promoting the use of  Holy See, which a distinct entity and different from  Vatican City. So which is it? Elizium23 (talk) 21:03, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Elizium23 Whether to label it as Vatican City or the Holy See is another discussion. Our original discussion was regarding which flag to use to represent it. Whether we label it as Vatican City or the Holy See, the flag remains the same. Precedent is to label it as the Holy See which is the reason I marked it as such.--Gri3720 (talk) 15:37, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gri3720, but where's the relevance? It's a poor precedent, and I am challenging it. Perhaps this needs a wider discussion than here on a lone bishop's article. Elizium23 (talk) 15:48, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
