Lavington is all of 2641...[edit]

So why do we not class Hamilton Valley etc as separate suburbs. If anything I would have thought they are areas within Lavington, not suburbs of Albury. Where is the source for this and all the other articles on suburbs in Albury. I have lived here all my life and to every source I have ever encountered there only suburbs in Albury are... Albury, East Albury, West Albury, East Albury, South Albury, North Albury, Lavington and Thurgoona. Where do we stop if not for this? Every pocket of our 'burbs have names. and most wouldn't have any more than 500 residents. Danjd (talk) 13:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lavington Shopping Centre[edit]

Is there any point in mentioning the specific businesses in the shopping centre? It seems rather trivial to me. Graham 10:41, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • While I do know what you mean about the trivial nature of the information, I guess it is interesting that there are chains and then individually owned business that are not franchises. Certainly the information on shopping needs some copyediting. Perhaps also the naming of the individual business Lavender Blue and Smokes and Gifts or whatever they are called is not useful or encyclopaedic. I have italicised shop names to try and improve clarity. I haven't actually been there so can't usefully contribute! I have only been to Albury.--A Y Arktos\talk 11:38, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lavington Sports Ground[edit]

During the course of my doing up various Australian rules articles, I've noticed that a stub for Lavington Sports Ground has appeared over the past month; I'm planning to expand it by moving the para discussing it from here to there, since that seems a more appropriate place for it, but first I want to figure out the "proper" name for it, as it's been known by a number of different names over the years, and move it if needed, since "Lavington Sports Ground" doesn't ring true for me, it's been usually referred to as "Lavington Sports Club Oval" or "Lavington Panthers Oval" (since 2001) or just "Lavington Oval". Cricinfo refers to it as "Lavington Sports Oval" and I'm inclined to go with that.Graham 16:04, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
