Stare decisis?[edit]

The article states:

Brazilian law derives from Portuguese civil law and is based on statutes and, partly and more recently, stare decisis.

If whoever edited stare decisis in actually refers to the recent súmula vinculante, I think that may give a wrong idea of how the Brazilian legal system works, even if the article does mention "partly." 200.158.155.187 19:58, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. And there should be an article or section about Súmula vinculante. A.Z. 20:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, "sumula vinculante" and "stare decisis" are different things. Writer didn't understand one of these two concepts.FabioPolli (talk) 22:52, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
