Merger[edit]

I understand that the merger between the University of Bradford and LCM has been called off, but can't find any reliable sources for this. Does anyone have one?

History section needed[edit]

This article needs a history section, which could include the college's origins under Joseph Stones (a great champion of the FE colleges in Leeds, from what was said at his funeral) and John Coates (I think it was, or grew out of, a "Music Centre"?), its premises in Cookridge Street and in parts of the now City Museum buildings before the Quarry Hill site was built, move to HE status, the various merger proposals, etc. I don't have access to relevant books at present, and the college website makes no mention of the past at all, but I hope someone can do something to record the history of this institution. (Declaration of interest: former member of Choral Society for many years!) Ah, a thought: Yorkshire Post probably did an obit for Joe Stones which would have useful content. More: can't find Joe Stones obit online, probably too early - but I'm sure YP an/or YEP will have printed something. It's a shame that the info about "Joseph Stones House" doesn't mention who he was! The infobox at least acknowledges the two earlier names, and dates, which is a start - yes, it was Leeds Music Centre, then CLCM, before LCM. PamD 08:24, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Correction - the college website does mention history, dates, earlier names - I hadn't noticed the inconspicuous "About" link at bottom of page which leads here.
