Expansion[edit]

Desperatly need expansion on this article, one may find need to brand it a stub. I played this game when I was a child, but I sold several years ago, so I cannot remember much. Please, anyone with outside information please help me! HMSvictory 17:44, 29 June 2007 (UTC) I notice that this article is very small but what do you want other people to do. Lego loco is a very simple game. The page is pretty much saying everything that there is to it alreaddy. One thing you can do if your that desperate is name all the levels I guess.[reply]

A Reception section about how it was received would be nice. 141.134.140.104 (talk) 21:30, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is a reception section now but it could use some more stuff. Total units sold worldwide, mentioning the lack of a large marketing campaign, a nice table with scores from media outlets and more. 141.134.140.104 (talk) 13:01, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to look for sources and expand the article at your volition. IceWelder [] 13:04, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've only found the Los Angeles Times source(as of now) Timur9008 (talk) 14:04, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, like why there are units on the cover that you can't get in the actual game (yellow train, foot bridge).71.234.123.137 (talk) 17:44, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, what's up with that? The LEGO® Bits N' Bricks podcast episode about Lego Loco (9 june 2021 | LEGO® Loco: The LEGO Group’s Take on SimCity) mentions the project was finished on time, so what gives? Why feature a unit (the black-yellow train, LEGO train set 4559) so prominently on everything including in the intro movie but then not have it in the game? An explanation in the article would be very good. 141.134.140.104 (talk) 13:27, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lego Loco Cover.jpg[edit]

Image:Lego Loco Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Screen Saver[edit]

I remember there being a screensaver that came with it. Can anyone expand on that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.137.73.109 (talk) 09:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm, there was a screensaver. There are also references to a screensaver on the archived pages of the Lego Loco official website. 2A02:1811:B7B4:E800:4846:1426:8E59:EC95 (talk) 13:28, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Additional content needing verification[edit]

See edit, i'm currently reverse engineering and remembering the game as it was, and for a game as old as this, it'll be hard to find concrete sources for anything that i put in there. Especially if they have to be based on news article, under-the-radar as this game really was. If anyone wants to additionally verify these changes, feel free. Shadowjonathan (talk) 14:11, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Did you also do data mining of the assets? Can you tell if assets for the yellow train and foot bridge from the cover but not available in the game are present? Can they be enabled/added in the game? 2A02:1811:B7B4:E800:4846:1426:8E59:EC95 (talk) 13:52, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are there reliable secondary sources that show the screensaver being noteworthy, though? Lots of games have/had screensavers. IceWelder [] 16:45, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Some websites mention you can use saved levels / save-games in the Lego Loco screensaver. Being able to do that in a computer-game is very unusual/unique and noteworthy. 141.134.140.104 (talk) 20:52, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Horrible jpeg image quality[edit]

The images on the page look horrible due to the terrible (for this type of high-contrast content) jpeg compression. Jpeg compresses high-contrast images really badly, both in quality and file size. Please re-screenshot/recreate/rescan/reupload image files in png. Especially the screenshots can benefit from directly saving and uploading as png without any lossy jpeg conversion steps in between. 2A02:1811:B7B4:E800:4846:1426:8E59:EC95 (talk) 13:45, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Difference(s) between original retail version and masterpiece edition[edit]

What are the differences between the original retail version and the later Masterpiece Edition? One difference is the Lego Loco Masterpiece Edition lacks a copy protection software that's present in the original retail version. And apparently that copy protection software is the thing stopping Lego Loco from running on anything newer than Windows XP. Can anyone with a Masterpiece Edition confirm this? (Does it run on Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11?) Are there any other differences anyone knows about? 2A02:A03F:E842:7E00:CD72:651F:B3F8:B0C4 (talk) 13:01, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mine isn't Masterpiece and it runs fine. Regardless, game release differences like that aren't usually covered by Wikipedia unless notable, PC Gaming Wiki would probably give you more detailed info about that. Ringtail Raider (talk) 23:12, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
