Deletion Nomination[edit]

While I have the highest regard for all our men and women in military service, it has already been established that the Silver Star, as only the third highest award for valor in the order of precedence, is not considered notable in of itself to be suitable criteria for an article on Wikipedia. The fact that Ms. Hester is female does not change this fact. She is a soldier and we need to make uniform standards for inclusion. Rapier1 (talk) 17:19, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose It isn't notable because she is a female Silver Star recipient. It is notable because she is the only female ever, to be cited for valor in close quarters combat. --JAYMEDINC (talk) 02:28, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose She's one of two modern Silver Star recipients. as JAYMEDINC noted. Wgfcrafty (talk) 01:43, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree for another reason. Ask the members of the 1075th Transportation Company, the convoy unit. By the time the Kentucky unit arrived, the Nebraska Soldiers had everything under control. In fact, multiple witnesses from the 1075th stated that this female Soldier, Hester, never left her HUMVEE that day. Oh well, it's all about how things get written up, isn't it? 2600:8804:401:8FE0:0:0:0:45F9 (talk) 02:07, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Star Citation[edit]

Some one needs to add the citation related to her silver star. Wgfcrafty (talk) 01:45, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
