Assessed as "Start" standard with "High" importance. A section on amateur RL in the area may be useful, as would some photographs (particularly any from previous eras) and a section on notable players. Discrepencies and references[edit]

I'm worried about some discrepancies in this article, and a distinct lack of referenced source material. For example, under Early History:

One such meeting when Leigh met Wigan in the first round of the Challenge Cup in 1923/24, saw a crowd of 33,500 pack the terraces at Mather Lane Yet under the Records section:

Highest attendance: 31,326 vs St Helens

I have personally never heard a crowd of 33000+ being mentioned at Mather Lane. Can we get this information referenced?

On the Leigh website, there are bits done by the Leigh "club historian". This fact came from there. The lack of references is mostly due to the fact that there are few available online and the ones that exist tend to become "dead" after a few years. IIRC the wikipedia article has been copy / pasted by Leigh and is now their official "club history" on their website hence if there is much wrong with it then they haven't noticed.GordyB (talk) 09:31, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move article to Leigh Leopards[edit]

Will this article be moved due to the rebrand of the club to Leigh Leopards? Would suggest not doing straight away as it may be a publicity stunt or reverted due to backlash. Something to talk about for the time Northern Wonder (talk) 17:28, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it's probably a publicity stunt, but all reputable sources have acknowledged the renaming, so can't just ignore it unfortunately. I will probably hold fire on re-naming all the categories and such. J Mo 101 (talk) 16:06, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
