If anyone has access to Tonight show archives, it was Joanne Woodward who explained the name-change from Archer to Harper during a contemporary appearance )along with her husband) on the Carson show. How many Archer novels?[edit]

Thanks to all those who have helped write this informative article. I'm a bit confused by the statement that Archer appears in 18 novels, as the page seems to have a list of 19. "Meet Me at the Morgue" (1953) was listed. This novel does not feature Lew Archer; it's a stand-alone, like "The Ferguson Affair".
