Citations for further research regarding liberation theology and socialist state development

Hello, fellow Wikipedians!

Included in this edit are several citations that I have come across in my efforts to contribute to this page. I hope to add a discussion of the role of liberation theology within socialist state development across Latin America in the second half of the 20th century, for which I will focus on the position of liberation theology in the Sandinista Revolution and rule of Nicaragua from 1979-1990.

• I'd say keep in mind that the really popular movements in Lain America had to do with base communities and poor people coming together to help one another. A lot that's written about liberation theology and Marxism is of interest only to the intelligentsia. And with the huge resources of the CIA, fascist elites find life much easier than do socialist elites. Jzsj (talk) 23:26, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

Missing information template discussion

Hi! I added the template. I feel while the article isn't doing too bad of a job at introducing some of the more prominent theologians, it could do a much better job at discussing its influence on the modern Church. Additionally, I think since the article goes straight from the lead to a list of its sub-movements I feel it misses a great opportunity to offer a more global perspective. What are some of its influences in previous movements of the church (e.g. parts of the Counter Reformation)? What are aspects within Protestant/Orthodox theology that share common ground with Catholic liberation theology, like in the case of the Social Gospel? Are there certain aspects of the Bible and Christian practice it emphasizes over others (such as the Sermon on the Mound)? I think you mean Sermon on the Mount... otherwise, yeah, it's a C-class article and could really use some improvement and expansion in the areas you suggest. Not sure how a talk page discssion is going to help improve the article, however. (t · c) buidhe 04:24, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Oh my god what a mistake lol. In regards to the discussion, I don't have the expertise in theology or time rn to take it upon myself to improve the article, but thought a discussion of ways it could be improved could serve as guidance for editors willing and able to do so.
