Notability

The notability tag was removed without any attempt to address the concern. What we really need are some independent third party sources that show this is magazine has made some kind of impact on the world. The BPA audited circulation figures might help, as well as well known awards, or mentions in academic works or other (non-related) media that show the magazine is considered widely read or particularly useful. Otherwise I think it makes more sense to merge this with, probably, the PLASA article. -- SiobhanHansa 12:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

It is difficult to find enough independent resources, because the magazine is so new. However, given its relationship to Lighting&Sound International, which is notable, it should be listed here as well. If merging is necessary, I recommend merging this with the Lighting&Sound International article instead. Also, I'm a new user to Wikipedia and still finding my feet, so please bear with me on this - I have no intention of abusing the site in any way. -- Oliver Kinne 14:45, 26 October 2007 (BST)

Hi. Sorry I've been slow responding. Caught up in other things. The listings in online directories aren't really evidence of notability, since they normally have very basic inclusion criteria. Check out the guideline to get a better idea of what's appropriate - but basically it's about other people independently taking notice of the magazine: getting reviewed, or talked about in high profile and reliable independent sources for instance; or mentioned in an academic paper as being important in some way. Unusually high circulation figures could also be an indicator.

If this is all there is, then it's probably more appropriate to merge, at least until it establishes more of a reputation independently. -- SiobhanHansa 02:40, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I think what you're saying makes sense and I'll see what I can do about finding more references and reviews from other sources to show that the magazine is notable and used as a source of information for many people.
