Lin Ping?[edit]

I just visited the zoo in Chiang Mai and all the signs there identify the panda as "Lin Ping". Also, I bought home some postcards printed up by the zoo and they also call the panda Lin Ping. Everyone we spoke to in Thailand called the panda Lin Ping. Could someone please include a redirect, so that people searching for Lin Ping can find this page?

Also, I'm not sure it's accurate to say the panda will be "returned" to China, since it was born in Thailand and has never been to China before.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lafong (talkcontribs) 06:58, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lin Ping not Lin Bing[edit]

Although the Pinyin version of this panda's name could be "Lin2 Bing1," the most accurate way to write this panda name should be "Lin Ping" as its name derived from the Ping River, which is a name of the river in Thai language not Chinese.
