Land Rover?[edit]

The infobox says that the Aviator is related to the Land Rover Discovery/LR3. As far as I know, no Land Rovers use the same platform as the Explorer/Mountaineer/Aviator, but I just want to make sure I'm correct. Is it okay to remove the Land Rovers from the infobox? —Reelcheeper (talk) 00:02, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i work for land rover so its okay but it will mess your countrols up and mess the electric system. p.s just buy one because there cheap these days. Tyler — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.148.53.200 (talk) 14:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The relationship between the two models is a not hard to figure if you have ever seen them side by side in a wrecking yard and been underneath the two models in a service shop and then there are all the common parts. < Moss 460*8 > — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.195.117.244 (talk) 02:37, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Crossover?[edit]

If the new 2020 Aviator shares the same platform as the new Ford Explorer, and the Explorer is now considered an SUV, why is the new Aviator considered a crossover instead? I know some media sources such as Autoblog call it a crossover, but Lincoln themselves call it an SUV. --Vossanova o< 15:02, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not a CUV While the use of unibody construction alone does not denote the 2020 Explorer/Aviator as a crossover (the Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ and Range Rover are definitely NOT CUVs...), supposedly its CD6 architecture will be utilized for both cars and SUVs in the future. In addition, in terms of its price and seating, the Aviator is closely matching the soon-to-be-discontinued MKT, which the Aviator is NOT directly replacing (mentioned by both Lincoln and source used on in this article). I consider the naming of it as an SUV as not inaccurate and should be used for the article. --SteveCof00 (talk) 08:08, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
