Removing "Every president since" line[edit]

I believe first paragraph of the United States section was potentially misleading, originally stating that every president since Ulysses S. Grant has asked for line-veto powers. This was not supported by the citation, which says 'presidents have been coveting line-item veto power since before the civil war: Everyone from Ulysses S. Grant to Ronald Reagan entreated Congress to give them line-item veto authority'.

I believe the intention of the source was not to imply that every single president between those two have asked for line-veto powers. Even if that was the intention, the source is now out of date.

I have changed the wording to : 'Dating to before the American Civil War, presidents including Ulysses S. Grant and Ronald Reagan have sought line-item veto powers. It was not until the Clinton presidency that Congress passed such legislation.' Shinsukato (talk) 12:12, 27 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wisconsin[edit]

Hi folks,

I noticed here on the topic of state governments that the article says: "In some states like Wisconsin, limitations exist as to the line-item veto, including limitations on the 'Frankenstein veto' and the 'Vanna White veto'". This seems to imply that Wisconsin has a less extensive line-item veto power than other states. However, on the Frankenstein veto page, the claim is made that Wisconsin still has the strongest line-item veto power of all the states, which I believe is true but haven't confirmed or anything.

I propose we edit the language here accordingly.
