Sources, image, and other changes[edit]

Sorry for editing as an IP (98.221.114.54) at first - I didn't realize I wasn't logged in. :( I re-worded a few things, added an image, and cited some sources. I do work for Linode, but I'm trying to keep it neutral. However, if I shouldn't edit this article, let me know - I'm trying to edit what I know about and not trying to break any wiki-rules or any thing.

How does one decide when the "advertisement" block can get removed? I didn't feel like it was right for me to take that down and was hoping for others opinions. Thanks! ericoc (talk) 07:55, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I re-added the "advertisment block". Employees of the subject of a Wikipedia article should refrain from editing it directly, per Wikipedia:NOPAY --Martey (talk) 17:39, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hold on[edit]

I'm still working on the page, I need time to get everything on it. Please wait for a couple of days so I can get it more developed. Techman224Talk 16:26, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to Cunard (talk) who removed the speedy deletion notice and added that source. Techman224Talk 23:59, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Linode Service Breach[edit]

http://bitcoinmedia.com/compromised-linode-coins-stolen-from-slush-faucet-and-others/ I don't know the protocol for notability and whatnot (the Bitcoin world is small and insular) but it seems hosts using Bitcoin on Linode have all had their bitcoin wallets emptied, resulting in massive financial losses. There was a vulnerability in the admininistrative control panel that allowed an attacker to systematically steal thousands of dollars worth of virtual currency 82.39.212.232 (talk) 02:17, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

I've added a POV template since this article is NOT written with a neutral point of view in mind. In fact the entire article talks about a single compromise that has happen. No one reading the article can find any useful info about the company except that one event. It appears like the entire article is written as an attack on the company.

CoffeeJedi talk Yea, how is the opening to this article helpful to anyone? I'm quite confused why this revision is still active. For comparison if you visit Adobe Systems you don't see the largest compromise of all time in the introduction regarding the company.

reference to aws[edit]

I don't know why the "See also" includes a link to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud. Linode does not have a particular relationship with aws nor any connection stronger than the many other cloud providers out there.

KVM[edit]

Maybe this article should be updated, to note that Linode has switched away from Xen nodes and now only supports KVM? 74.78.135.91 (talk) 00:49, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
