Discussion[edit]

The book has been criticized as a work of naive apologism. [1] However, link number 1 leads to a preview that ends with these words: "Our major entries are around 2-2500 words but only the first 600 words or so can be read by non-members. To read about membership..."

Don't you think it's rude to link to a source that offers NO information on topic for free?

supposed?[edit]

I believe it's a bit dishonest to use the weasel-ish qualifier "supposed" when talking about the Soviet and communist brutality under Stalin (while omitting any such qualifier when talking about the Nazis). I think we should follow WP:NPOV and WP:WORDS. "Supposed" sounds like a WP:WEASEL weasel word. The source doesn't say, "Feuchtwanger didn't acknowledge the supposed brutality of the Soviets," it probably says something like "Feuchtwanger didn't acknowledge the brutality of the Soviets." As long as there were WP:RS that say that, we can quote them. But according to Wikipedia's guidelines and style sheets, we can't make unsourced statements about the brutality of the Soviets. --Nbauman (talk) 20:52, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

In German, <Feuchtwanger> has /v/, not /w/. Actually German doesn't have a phoneme /w/, hence, speakers of German often use /v/ instead of /w/ or even /w/ instead of /v/... I once pronounced <viking> with a /w/ myself ;)

I changed that... about the secondary stress: does German have secondary stress at al? If it does it's certainly not the same secondary stress used in English (or most or all varieties of English - Indian English probably doesn't have it though...)
