The Honourable[edit]

The honorific styling The Honourable was applied to Lisa Singh as a Minister of the Crown in Tasmania from 2008 to 2010, however my understanding is that in Tasmania (also NSW and SA) that the prefix is not used once the person ceases to be a minister unless they are granted the right to use the title 'Honourable' for life (see this list, Use of the Title and the Royal Prerogative). Now that Singh is a Senator, does she regain the title as a former state minister now Senator? The Parliament House website does indeed refer to her as "Senator the Honourable Lisa Singh". The Tasmanian Parliament does not, but it hasn't been updated that she is a Sentor now either. --Canley (talk) 01:15, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
