Initial page created[edit]

I have created this page to separate the present subject from an identically named station in New South Wales, Australia, for which a page already exists. I reside close to the Australian instance, not the Irish one, so have created this page from information available via the internet rather than local knowledge. Persons more familiar with myself with the current and past Irish rail system(s), and this station in particular, are very welcome to make corrections and/or add additional detail. Confirmation needed - is this right?[edit]

From what I have read, Lismore was originally the terminus of one line, but subsequently became a through route... I have constructed the following paragraph which encapsulates my present understanding, but would welcome confirmation that my wording is correct:

"According to the "eiretrains.com" website, Lismore was also the terminus of the separate Waterford, Dungarvan & Lismore Railway, who had their own single platform station east of the larger F&LR one, though it was in use for only 10 years from approximately 1878–1888. No trace of this separate building now survives. In 1893, the Waterford, Dungarvan & Lismore Railway took over the operation of the Fermoy and Lismore Railway and apparently connected the two previously separate lines, such that Lismore became a through station on the Waterford–Mallow railway line lying between Tallow Road, the previous penultimate stop, and Cappoguinn."
