NOS=not otherwise specified--a generic catchall also you will see NEC=not elsewhere classified

somesections will have NEC followed by NOS just incase you didn' find the NEC ambiguous enough!

Published is not necessarily public domain[edit]

http://www.code-xpert.com/ is cited as evidence that these codes are in the public domain; but it really only proves that the codes are published, not that they are in the public domain. ICD cites WHO | International Classification of Diseases (ICD), which says:

ICD-10 classification in various formats such as ClaML and other related materials can be downloaded from our download area. You will need to register and accept the license before downloading.

NOS[edit]

What does NOS mean? By the way, it is now linked to the NOS disambiguation page (links should not be linked disambiguation pages), and I find nothing good in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cate (talkcontribs) 05:50, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not Otherwise Specified. Indeed a very confusing term. JFW | T@lk 16:52, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
