Conflicting Sources[edit]

I'm going to have to recommend we avoid using MLB.com. Rivera has 856 games finished according to Baseball-Reference, but 855 according to MLB.com (the difference comes from how many games finished they have for his 2002 season). You can manually check each game in 2002 that Rivera pitched, though, if you check out his game log from 2002 on Baseball-Reference. I think if you do that, you can verify each game that he should have received credit for a game finished. And by doing so, I think you'll find it's clear that MLB.com is simply missing one.
