MoH Context[edit]

It might be worth mentioning that during the Indian Wars the MoH was the only valor decoration available to the Army. There was a certificate of merit, but it was fairly rare.Intothatdarkness (talk) 20:37, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I will make sure that gets mentioned for this and the ACW. --Kumioko (talk) 20:50, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! John Carroll compiled a book about the Indian Wars MoH recipients (The Medal of Honor: Its History and Recipients for the Indian Wars)that might be of help for some of these guys. Intothatdarkness (talk) 20:52, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, Unfortunatley it might be a little while before I get to building this one up. I just finished the Spanish american war list today. Next im gonna finish out the USMC and peacetime recipients and then Ill work on this one. Hopefully I should be able to get to this one in a month or so after I finish the above and develop a couple more of the lists towards featured list status. Please feel free to make changes or add comments here for inclusion later. --Kumioko (talk) 20:58, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quotation marks[edit]

Are the quotation marks in the notes around "Gallantry in Action," necessary?--Georgia Army Vet Contribs Talk 14:41, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
