Rename or trimming characters[edit]

Currently this article id called "List of Native American video game characters," but includes characters who are Indigenous Brazilian and Mayan. Since Native American most commonly refers to indigenous people living in the modern-day United States, I wonder if it would make more sense to remove these characters, or to rename this article to something like "List of indigenous North American video game characters"? Furthermore, because there are multiple tribal groups who live in both the United States and Canada, this might be the most inclusive, considering there may be characters who are identified by tribe, but not by nationality. Third option - this article could be renamed to "List of indigenous video game characters", perhaps with subsections for each continent? We already have the article Indigenous people in video games, so a corresponding list might be useful. ForsythiaJo (talk) 03:53, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I included indigenous video game characters of Central and South America, because there are very few in video games. The term "native american" doesn't have to only refer to characters from what is now the USA although it generally does. Indigenous peoples from Central and South America are also 1. native 2. and American in the sense that they are from the American continents (Americas). On one hand "Native American" video game characters deserve their own page and article. However, if you apply a narrow term (from USA only) that excludes significant video game characters from what is now Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile etc. Update: I made a separate table for Central and South American characters. - Artanisen (talk) 04:25, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
