Work needed[edit]

What more needs to be done to improve this article? I have some ideas:

Lengthen lead
Add statistics on points scorers

Stats on :

successful/failed tackles,
ball posession,
time in own/opposition half,
goalkickng,
balls run/passed vs kicked,
passes sucessful/knockons,
rucks and malls won, etc...

Note that South Africa did not play in the first two world cup tournaments because of sanctions. That means they have now won 50% of the tournaments they played compared to New Zealand 30%. % of tournaments won should be added to the 'Results by Nations' table

..all the things behind the result. In the 3rd place playoff SA vs Argentina the tackle counts tell the story : Argentina couldn't do anything with all its possession. Rcbutcher (talk) 22:02, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Late suggestion at the FLC[edit]

Nergaal continues to add this suggestion to the closed and archived FLC nomination which is not very helpful. The suggestion is as follows: Bit late to this but the intro should mention that 5/8 finals featured the host since this type of advantage is pretty notable. If Nergaal himself, or anyone else who's interested in adding this to the article, please feel free to do so. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:21, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Main summary messed up[edit]

Beyond my limited editing skills but somehow the main summary has got the infobox removed and mentions rugby league (rather than union), has a cite <ref> error and has lost the starting text about when it started etc. I could have done the last but might just as well leave it to someone to do it all in 1 go.
