What Kenny Says

I wanted to ask this before i start making edits, but we could include a section on all the pages of what kenny says.. there are a few lists on the web like this one: http://www.spscriptorium.com/Kennysays.htm Or would it be too explicit or whatever to put this in??86.15.139.47 14:59, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

No reason for it honestly. Jmlk17 15:46, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
There is a website for this based off of the SP Scriptorium site. Got to the Kenny McCormick wikipedia page and scroll down to external links. The link is right there. 71.125.91.77 22:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Unnecessary info in the Summary!!

I think all the unnecessary lines in the summary (about the movie, about the person who voiced chef, about kenny, about the guys going to forth grade...)should be deleted. It is not the right place to put that kind of information.

Why do you think that? Jmlk17 20:52, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Because it's a summary, about the number of the seasons and of the episodes. Why say something about tweek, budders and kenny there? The more simple the better. You can check the summarys of the simpsons, the fumily guy, futurama... and you will see there is no information about the content of the episodes —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.25.94.85 (talk) 00:28, 25 April 2007 (UTC).

Disagree --Fixman 22:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers on the page!

BEFORE the spoiler warning, under season 6, it says "During this season, Kenny was replaced with Butters and Tweek until he returned in "Red Sleigh Down". This is clearly a big spoiler! The spoiler warning mark should be higher up, or even better, remove the unnecessary line. Ran4 12:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

1103??

There is a summary of episode 1103, but as of today (3/15/07) there has been no update on southparkstudios.com or anywhere else I can find that references this episode. I will remove it until a citation can be presented or it appears on an official source. -- Ubergenius 20:40, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Season Four

I don't know if there's some special reason as to why, but it appears that the first two episodes of season four are out of order. - Y.krzepicki 03:03, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Season Three

I dont want to mess with the scripting for tables, so I won't do it myself, but I recommend that the heading for season three be changed to: Season 3: 1999 and the table run through and include "Tweek v. Craig".

Then a break for a new heading: Motion Picture Release, June 30, 1999 with the information for "Bigger, Longer & Uncut"

Followed by a break and then a new heading: Season 3 (continued): 1999-2000 207.69.137.27 02:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I feel the movie should be left out of the list of episodes all together, excluding the mention at the top. The list of South Park episodes should only include episodes of the television show, not external projects like motion pictures. Anoncow 02:25, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Kenny's deaths

Maybe we could add the death of Kenny to each episode, rather than starting a list of the many deaths of Kenny? 213.51.209.230 21:17, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

The deaths of Kenny are now included in the Kenny McCormick article.
  • Kenny has a freakin reason to die
Cause he's poor.

episode table

I discovered the use of a table to contain the details of episodes (ex. Lithia (episode)). How would everyone feel about adding tables to the South Park episodes there are articles for? Lachatdelarue (talk) 21:29, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I'd much rather see either articles created or the overviews on the list to be done before putting infoboxes on articles. Cburnett 21:35, Apr 5, 2005 (UTC)

wow

running tally of episodes

Think we should add a running tally of episodes in the episode table? This way people can see which # episode from the start of the series a particular show was? Can someone tell me how to do this? 64.59.209.89 15:30, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

overview not really needed

should that be removed since there is no real need for it (i mean.. just click on the episode to check it out)--Manwe 11:48, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

The overview box isn't really needed, since we're working towards articles on every episode (I assume). But maybe it should be used for the episodes we don't yet have articles on... Lachatdelarue (talk) 13:19, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I completely, 100%, whole-heartedly disagree. See List of Star Trek: TNG episodes Cburnett 15:17, Apr 30, 2005 (UTC)
Actually, I now think the overview's look great. I didn't really think about it much before I left my comment before. Thank you Sfufan for filling those in :) Lachatdelarue (talk) 00:11, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
You're welcome, I had a great time doing it! Remembering a lot of SP memories... Sfufan2005 03:16, May 1, 2005 (UTC)

Call for screenshots

With the new table format, this article needs one screenshot per episode. Need about 122 screenshots. I've been using "Image:Southpark ep101 1.jpg", "Image:Southpark ep101 2.jpg", etc. as the format for mine... Cburnett 04:19, May 1, 2005 (UTC)

I think the screenshots in this list are a bad idea. Even on a reasonably high-speed link, the page takes a while to load as a result. We need to think about our many users worldwide who are on relatively slow dial-up modems. Let me be clear: I have no objections to the screen-shots in general, e.g. if they were on the matching episode pages. It's only having them all here, on one page, that I think is a bad idea. (Links to them would be OK too; it's just including them all directly that I think is a bad move.) Noel (talk) 17:35, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Not sure how best to reply to this.
My browser loads the page first *then* loads the images. My browser also contains a "stop" button that can halt the download of images after downloading the page. Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Application Suite are free, but I don't want to make using a better browser a requirement. :)
I understand your concern but here's the options I see:
  1. Remove images
  2. Break it up into one page per season (leaving images)
  3. Leave it as is and wait for comments/complaints from people on dial-up (IOW: no premature optimization)
I loathe #1; could tolerate #2; but would prefer #3.
A final option (the best IMO but hardest) is, instead, a software change. It should be fairly simple to add a preference to "disable article images by default" and then have a button on the page to reload the page with images. It could preserve image sizes and locations with a white 1x1 pixel image that can be scaled using the width & height parameters to the image tag at page rendering time. So instead of re-solving the dial-up user problem on a per-article basis, it would be solved for all articles and give the user extra choice. Cburnett 18:39, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)
I'm currently on 28800 dialup and the page loads fine...  Grue  5 July 2005 19:47 (UTC)

the majority of people have spocken like 90%say they refer screenshots so im adding them in if these people dont like it teyll complain and theyll remove it

They are going to be removed...it's policy since it's a featured article now. Jmlk17 22:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

what? were did is this information about featured article website please besides if a page with images benifits 90%of users surly we should act like a democry and do it that way since after all this websites all about sharing free infomation and extending human knowledge surely you are going against this to aid the smallest minority if youre so bothered select anwpage at the top saying click here for people using dial up connection and this one could lead to a page with none of the images

Hey I'm not arguing with you the fact that images do look good sometimes. The images don't "bother" me at all. But it's an issue of fair use rationale. Check out the conversation further down the page, and you'll see that the consensus wasn't just a few of us; it involved a bunch of people, including admins. Also, don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes. If you like, I'd be more than happy to talk to you about the issue and explain it on my talk page so we don't clutter up or irritate anyone here on this page. Jmlk17 23:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

It's stupid to not have the episode icons; Wiki has been ruined that much more.

-G

The reason the SP list became featured was because of the screenshots.. Now that they are gone, it just looks like a regular list. On the other hand, most Wikipedia articles usually do only have a few images per page.. and a mass colossal of images will delay for some dial-up users. I still think we should put in the screenshots, as before. --Domthedude001 03:50, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I would love to have them, but it's an issue of fair use... there is actually a pretty lengthy discussion about it :). Jmlk17 06:12, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Question

Has there been a "Jihad" episode? If so, which one(s)? - RoyBoy 800 19:03, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

Meteor Shower

"Episodes 307, 308 and 309 have a fictional crossover meteor shower theme." How is a meteor shower a fictional crossover? Isn't it just a recurring theme?

  • When you click on fictional crossover it explains how it is a TV related term. It's not intended that the meteor shower is in fact fictional. Sfufan2005 01:26, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

Cartman's song

Does anyone know which episode Cartman sang "Kyle's Mom is a stupid bitch"?--Web kai2000 16:56, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

  • He sang it in "Mr Hanky, The Christmas Poo" and in "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut". Sfufan2005 20:17, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
  • That was funny!!!!!!!

Ordering

I think the south park episodes should be numbered by the order in which they were aired. In episode 802 cartmans mom says on the phone he cant come out because hes grounded for trying to exterminate the jews 2 weeks ago. This relates to episode 804 The passion of the Jew. In production order this makes no sense as 802 occurs first, however on comedy central 802 was in fact aired 2 weeks after 804. Any objections to me renumbering the episodes? Discordance 04:26, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Put them in the order of broadcast but keep the production code the same since AWESOM-O is considered 802. Sfufan2005 19:55, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
I meant change the episode number not the production codes. So AWESOM-O would remain 802 as production codes are fixed but the episode number with it would be 116 not 113. This will only affect 1 or 2 episodes per season but in my opinion its better for south park to be ordered by air dates Discordance 22:32, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm just doing some reformatting on the list at the moment in regards to the wikiproject and the previous featured list candidate comments, if noone has any objections I'll start reordering in a day or so once im done with the formatting and checking the pictures copyright status. Episode 701 has a celebratory scene at the end about it being the 100th episode, at the moment it is number 97 on the list another reason to reorder by AD. Discordance 22:49, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

I've reordered them now as it was only a few episodes Discordance 21:39, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Follow that Egg!

Is 'that' a preposition? I dont't think it is but im not sure on this one. Need to move the episode back to Follow That Egg! if its not. Discordance 05:09, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Air Date of volcano and weight gain 400

The two episode guides disagree on the air dates i've left it as the dates given on southparkstudios.com but they may be wrong Discordance 19:46, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Sourcing

I've checked that all the images have cited sources now, they all in fact now come from the same source the South Park Studio downloads section. With the exceptions of 215 - Spookyfish and 203 - chickenlover which are from the episode guide section and the early shorts from the how it all began section. Sorry if anyone prefered some of the older shots but it was better to source as many as possible from the same place, made it easier to check them for one thing Discordance 21:03, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Jared Has Aides

Huh Sfufan why did you switch the production codes? both the episode guides list Jared Has Aides as 602 not 601. The guides both disagree on air dates for the start of season 6 which is unfortunate but like i said previously I havnt be changing production codes just the order and episode numbers in the final column. Did you mean "was made 2nd but aired first" rather than "was made 1st but aired second". Thanks for catching my other formatting mistakes I do appreciate the help Discordance 01:45, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

My bad. Jared Has Aides aired 1st but was made second. I'll change that. Sfufan2005 02:01, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
This is how Season 6 began airing: Jared Has Aides, Asspen and then Freak Strike. Sfufan2005 02:07, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

thanks, I'm a little concerned about the two reference guides disagreeing on the dates if you know one to be correct could you indicate it in the reference section? If not I'll try to find another source somewhere maybe a south park fan forum or something Discordance 03:44, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

You can't always depend on some sites. The DVD states JHA was originally aired on March 6, 2002 with Asspen on the 13th and Freak Strike on the 20th. Sfufan2005 17:20, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Fair Use Rationale

This is the last thing that needs to be done to the article. So far i've done the shorts and season 1. I changed the overviews slightly to relate more to the pictures and made sure the pictures also have a relating caption on their page. In that way ive used the images to identify characters, illustrate the episode, and aid commentary on the episode. Click on the pictures to see the rationales. As you wrote the overviews Sfufan perhaps you'd like to help rewrite them a little? Or if theres better images in the downloads section at southparkstudios perhaps change the image so it relates better to the plot summary (I'm thinking cartman with the transmitting dish would be a better picture for 101s plot overview). I was going to work down from season 1 if you can help maybe work up from season 9? Discordance 03:44, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I'll help if I have the time. Take your time! Sfufan2005 17:21, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I've written the rationales, reworded overviews and changed images. Some of the overviews are a bit messy now but hopefully you can see how they relate to the picture. Most of your original captions and overviews were great though. The majority I didn't have to modify at all. Great work sfufan. Discordance 10:44, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Changing images

This page is now a featured list so please be careful when you change images. Trogga your new image is suitable and you sourced it correctly but it needs a fair use rationale like the other images before it is used on this page. i've written one in for it but please anyone who wants to change images in future make sure they are sourced properly and have a fair use rationale. Discordance 16:22, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Jay Leno Short

Maybe someone should add the Jay Leno Thanksgiving short (aired Thursday November 20, 1997 on the Tonight show) to the list?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.113.137.211 (talkcontribs) 04:11, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Theres a few specials that could be mentioned, but perhaps its time to move them to their own page along with the two original shorts. Discordance 23:40, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Order of List

Shouldn't the list be in order of episode number, as the template on each episode is, not in order of airdate???Mkaycomputer 19:44, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

The reasons for ordering by airdate are given at the start of the article. It affects only a small number of episodes but the ones affected only make sense in airdate order. Discordance 00:50, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Please do not go changing production numbers and air dates randomly all the information was correct, the series was not broadcast in production order as the changes suggested and the production codes are the production codes from southparkstudios.com not broadcast codes, to reorder the list move the entire episode and change the final column number only, dont change air dates and production codes unless you have a source to contradict the information taken from southparkstudios.com. As for the reason the list has been placed in airing order this has been done for continuity as the start of the article states. Discordance 17:29, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Episodes 102 and 103 may have incorrect airdates as epguides.com gives different airdates from southparkstudios.com. If anyone knows which guide is wrong please post here. Discordance 17:33, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Hidden aliens

Most people know that hidden in every episode of South Park is one of the Aliens from the pilot. They're generally very well hidden and I've only ever noticed a handful myself over the years. Some of them have been mentioned on the various episode pages but there's a lot of gaps.

Stumbling across Google I've never had much success with finding any more information about them, until today. http://southpark.org.ru/english/hidal.htm This website has loads of them listed. But I can't be bothered to go through and add these dozens of different bits of trivia only to have someone remove it saying: "No Reference" or "Fancruft" So can people agree to trust this page as a reference since it comes with pictures? --Simondrake 13:50, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Titles of episodes

Why are some episodes of shows like 4th Grade appended with "(South Park)" in the namespace while some (like Free Willzyx) aren't? I'd understand if there was a 4th Grade article, but there's not. Cigarette 04:01, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

I imagine people would object if it was just called "4th Grade", and it could cause confusion. Grandmasterka 00:27, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Episode 97 and 100 had changed places

Recently it occured to me that the 7'th season episodes i'm a little bit country(episode 97) and cancelled (episode 100) had moved around, i don't know if this was done intentionally, but i set it back as it should be. user:tmr5555 16.05.06 19:31

NOTE: i just realized that this was done beacuse of the airing date, anyhow don't you think it's better to list the episodes by production code?

Er, if you look above on "Order of List" topic you'll find a discussion on production codes and why it should not be used for this list. Sfufan2005 21:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Fair use debate regarding television screencaps

Currently, there is a debate on Talk:List of Lost episodes regarding whether or not use of a 1/30th stillframe visual excerpt next to a list of audiovisual works (such as List of Lost episodes or List of South Park episodes) is in accordance with WP:Fair use, and has even resulted in the protection of the page.

If you have any opinions regarding fair use on the List of Lost episodes page, please feel free to express them as I believe these two pages are sister projects.

Cws125 05:11, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Use of images in Lists of episodes

A head's up that a weeks-long discussion has been going on at Talk:List_of_Lost_episodes/Use_of_images about the inclusion of screen captured images, such as those used in this list article. The position by some admins appears to be that they are a violation of Copyright and do not fall under Fair Use. Consequently, the images were deleted from the Lost episode list, and likewise will probably be removed from this one-- unless opinion on the use of such images changes. --LeflymanTalk 20:05, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

I think that all images should be deleted from here as with List of Lost episodes. Mahahahaneapneap 18:43, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I disagree wholeheartedly with this debate. The deletion of these pictures would be a deterioration of the quality of this article which is a featured article, the best of this site. Sfufan2005 19:54, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Then they should be put back on the Lost article. Mahahahaneapneap 18:48, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Screenshots as fair use

In order to resolve the long standing debate over fair use of screenshots on List of Lost episodes, I am now trying to resolve the issue under the belief that the issue is an opinionated matter and not a matter of policy. Talk:List of Lost episodes#Fair use criteria number 8. I ask that people share their comments, but please try to keep the conversation in this section focused.

One thing that works against us is that the conversation tries to defend too many points at once. Try not to respond to comments about other aspects of the debate, and just take this one step at a time. Basically, respond if you think this is an opinionated matter regarding policy point 8 of WP:FUC or not.

I believe if we can break through on the issue of point 8, the rest will fall into place. -- Ned Scott 08:02, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Question?

Should there be a list of episodes that end with the phrase " I learned something today? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.60.225.176 (talkcontribs) .

no, that'd be bad fancruft. A good idea for a South Park fansite, but NOT Wikipedia. -- Ned Scott 06:03, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

DVD screenshots

In response to the deletion of DVDs in this article, I feel that they are described in the opening and therefore should be reinstated. If they were being used as a decorative purpose there would be nothing to describe the DVDs. However because of the paragraph in the opening regarding DVD releases it is being used properly. Sfufan2005 19:50, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Why are the Season 1 and Season 10 titles in bold?

Is there any reason as to why it's like this? - Zone46 16:10, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

The WikiProject List of Television Episodes board is in transition of converting the "old" templates to the new template which features the titles in bold. The person who started with Seasons 1 and 10 was just giving the page a head start. The entire page will be done shortly. Sfufan2005 19:54, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Color Code

Perhaps we should color code the episodes by season e/g season 8 purple season 9 green etc etc..

(220.101.173.133 08:17, 26 August 2006 (UTC)).

Individual Episode Pages

Everyone of the episode pages needs work. There are no cites, extended plots, and information that is best left out all together. Whoever is monitoring this page and those pages should read this Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Television episodes. This is the policy created to establish guidelines for episode pages. If you do not have well referenced material try developing Seasonal pages until you do. Bignole 12:51, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Bang The Cock episode

I deleted the "Bang The Cock" episode from the list, since no titles of episodes from the second half of season 10 has been announced. --Eric Ashford 22:44, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

10 episodes that changed the world

At this time I don't have 7-1 but I can add them later. If someone wants to count this as a marathon I could use the episodes in links like the other marathons because I don't know how to do it.

Are descriptions after each of the episodes in this list necessary? Opinion based statements like "the most controversial episode" seem blatently out of place in Wikipedia, and none of the other lists have them. --Billdorr 21:42, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

What? Comedy Central is running the marathon. They chose the order and what episodes. Not any of us.

Someone should add the reasons why each episode changed the world. It was announced before each one. Pacman 16:41, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
WTF happened? the "changed the world" section is completely gone (instead now there's the Top 27) I would like to see the "changed" episodes too -- and the reasons why. :( 199.214.27.209 21:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I restored the list. The stated reason for removal was the lack of an appropriate source, but I challenge anyone taking that position to give us a few ideas about where to find a source for television listings from a year and a half ago. The fact is that this is relevant information, sourced or otherwise, and we should be working to research and provide a source rather than unilaterally deciding to remove the "offending" information. I have located a partial source for the listing and included it in the article, but there's more work to be done. Maybe someone can even research the themes included in these episodes and expound on why they were included in the list? That would be nifty.Bistromathics (talk) 18:11, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Season 2 Bonus Disc

I just made this change. I know for a fact that the bonus disc with the original pilot was available through Best Buy's website, since I own it. The link I provided should be enough proof (despite the fact that the link to Best Buy within it no longer works....). Although, I own Season 2 as it was originally released on Warner Bros., the page originally stated that the bonus disc "is included in some versions of the season 2 DVD set". Have more recent releases of Season 2 actually been released with the original pilot? Or did the person who originally wrote that have no idea what he/she was talking about?

Plus, should I upload a picture of the bonus disc as more proof?

You were wrong. It was a Best Buy exclusive, but was not limited to the website. People were advised to pre-order from Best Buy because Best Buy is notorious for quickly running out of their bonus discs (especially in those days, with a show that popular) but, in fact, I bought the set in a store and have the disc.
I have also heard it alleged (completely unconfirmed and probably just a rumor) that other regions had a more official less difficult to find release which included the unaired pilot. ThatGuamGuy 17:14, 5 April 2007 (UTC)sean

1888?

The second sentence of the article says: "The series has its roots in 1888..." I'm not sure what year it should be, but I'm pretty sure it's not 1888. 213.219.162.72 01:04, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

SP Navigation

Do the individual episode articles really need a South Park navigation bar at their ends when they already have a season episode list (with the subject episode bolded) at the top? --Wfaxon 08:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Probably not. It seems there's at least three different nav options, succession box, infobox links for each episode in the season, and the link to the list of episodes. Seems a bit over-kill to me. -- Ned Scott 08:28, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

"The Gauntlet" short absent from list

The South Park article notes:

Arguably, the first time the show satirized Scientology was in the short "The Gauntlet", which aired during the 2000 MTV Movie Awards. Though the short was primarily a Gladiator parody, with the characters fighting Russell Crowe in the Roman Coliseum, it included "John Travolta and the Church of Scientology" arriving in a spaceship to defeat Crowe and attempt to recruit the boys into Scientology. Travolta, along with his fellow Scientologists, was depicted as he appeared in the infamous Battlefield Earth.[1]

I noticed that this short is not included in the list of episodes, and would like to see it added. I remember seeing this when it aired, and it was very funny.

The short is also discussed in the Los Angeles New Times article "Sympathy for the Devil" from Sept. 27, 2001, regarding Tory Christman:

Last year, Church of Scientology operatives received an alarming tip: During the upcoming 2000 MTV Movie Awards scheduled for June 8, a short South Park film parodying Battlefield Earth would feature the character Cartman wiping his ass with a copy of L. Ron Hubbard's sacred text, Dianetics.

The tip was erroneous. Cartman would actually be wiping his ass with a Scientology personality test.[2][3][4][5]

I wanted to bring up for discussion before attempting to add to the article. Thanks! --Alienlifeformz 00:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

SEASON PAGES

Why on earth have all these pages been redirected? I spent weeks working on them until some selfish person decides to merge some well written work! We need separate pages for seasons because more background info can be added. May the person who did this please come forward and explain their actions - and trust me I am not as angry as I could be! Mr. Garrison (talk · contribs)

You made excellent Season Pages. It is a shame whoever is merging them. Work on them again and make sure you save the text to your computer. If the selfish person merges them again, just take the text you saved and put the article back.SuperMarioGamer 22:51, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Summary table needs some fixes

I think that List_of_South_Park_episodes#Summary table needs some fixes:

  • The Season's 1 brown color is placed in wrong cell.
  • There are some free spaces between rows (se4-se5, se5-se6, se7-se8, se8-se9, se9-se10, se10-11). Why are they separated and others not?

Remove images or lose featured list status

There is a discussion about Fair use images in featured lists at Wikipedia_talk:Featured_list_criteria#Fair_Use_images which may result in this list losing its featured list status. - Peregrine Fisher 23:31, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Big who cares about some "featured list" status. Just look what they did with Scrubs by removing the images, compared to House for example. It's simply hideous. -- 91.6.25.157 11:44, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

I agree, who cares about the featured list status. The pictures make the list infinitely better, why does it matter whether or not we lost that small star in the top right corner? Most wikipedia browsers don't even know what a featured article is... Columbo2 04:59, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually, all episode lists no longer have screen shots, featured or not. -- Ned Scott 05:02, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
It's not really meant to impress anyone, nor do anything of that sort. Rather, it is for recognizing the hard work of the editors who have striven for good edits, and a great page. The images may have looked nice, but they did not belong in the scheme of things. Jmlk17 05:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

There is a discussion concerning the images on this list at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Clean_up_for_the_featured_ones. - Peregrine Fisher 18:54, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

My faith in Wiki is slowly being shattered. Where did all the pictures go? Is this website that anal that the pictures needed to be ripped off? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Venus redscar (talkcontribs) 18:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC).

They need fair use rationales. - Super48 21:09, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Either you're intentionally spreading misinformation or just wrong. The reason they were removed had nothing to do with having fair use rationales (as I believe each and every one of them had one to attain featured list status). Cburnett 21:16, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
I deleted a handful just the other day for not having rationales. But you're right, the reason for removing them all was that use of them in a list cannot constitute fair use. --bainer (talk) 00:46, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Parodies

I've noticed an increase in summaries including "Parody of <insert movie, current event, etc.>". I'm not sure if this is completely necessary, and was going to remove them, but I wanted to gather some input from everyone else before doing so. Jmlk17 09:14, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

South Park is notorious for parodying or satirizing movies and such. Cburnett 15:19, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh I know and agree, I was just saying it's an issue of spoilers perhaps? Jmlk17 09:15, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
As time goes on I believe more and more that these LoE pages should have spoilers (and more descriptive summaries) since this is an encyclopedia, not a TV guide nor trailer. Cburnett 12:50, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Perfect answer, thank you! Jmlk17 20:51, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Just so we're on the same level here, there are plenty of editors that want these lists to not give any spoilers away and be short and concise. Cburnett 20:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

That's understandable. Perhaps the addition of the spoilers tag is sufficient warning enough. Jmlk17 21:23, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I definitely think that there should be an entry in the table regarding parodies. Noting certain clear parodies, such as 300 or Guitar Hero, would definitely categorize the episodes better as well as provide an additional information source for those searching for a specific parody. It's an important component of recent SP episodes and this being a place to get information I feel it should be noted. 76.79.104.118 (talk) 23:10, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

2000?

Has there ever been a solid explanation as to why the first 4 episodes of season 4 have the year 2000 randomly tagged on the episode titles? - Ugliness Man 05:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Because it's the start of the 2000 season and throughout the 90's (and before) "2000" was frequently added to things to make them seem more futuristic or advanced. Koweja 05:51, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Exactly...just sort of a funny side note to the episodes. Jmlk17 08:21, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Season 8 List - The Jeffersons

I noticed while looking through the list of episodes on Season 8 (actually clicked on Good Times with Weapons that the list box shows wikilinks for all episodes except the one currently being viewed. The episode currently being viewed is in bold. This works for all episodes except The Jeffersons (South Park episode). I'm not sure why that is, maybe because of the Redirect on The Jeffersons (South Park)? Somebody more skilled can hopefully fix this. --DMW 02:33, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Kenny O's

Today, 68.61.212.163 added an episode description to the end of Season 11 (current season) as being an upcoming episode. The alleged episode, "Kenny O's," was to be about Kyle and Kenny starting a cereal business making a cereal called Kenny O's, while Stan and Cartman create a Pop-Tart called Cartman O's. Then, Chunko567 created an article for the episode. However, the episode has now been removed from this list, on the grounds that it's not a real episode. Could someone find out if it's a real episode or not and, if it really is not, then delete the episode's article, please? The Persian Connection

It seems we may need to block the episode guide article from unregistered users to prevent unwanted and false edits. 164.107.111.140 was one of many vandals who contributed to these false edits. For now however I'm going to delete that post like any upstanding user would if they feel that the information is vandal related and or false.

70.100.146.236

I don't think it should be blocked from unregistered users. It's inevitable that vandals are going to add false episodes to the list. When this happens, just delete it. It happens all the time. This "Teacher's Strike" one certainly wasn't the first time. Last week there was "Cartman vs. Hulk Hogan," which was promptly deleted, and worst of all, "Kenny O's," for which a vandal went so far as to create an article. That was deleted too. Don't worry about it; the next new episode should be announced on SouthParkStudios.com soon. 69.249.83.96 02:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Speaking of which... "The girls in the fourth grade class have made a secret list that rates every boy's looks from cutest to ugliest. When the boys steal the list, they are completely unprepared to deal with the results." -- South Park Studios website. 69.249.83.96 02:22, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Me? A Vandal?

Hi, Jmlk. Apparently you have identified my last edit on this page as vandalism. I beg to differ. I have seen many instances of vandalism on this page recently, and therefore I do not blame you for semi-protecting the article. However, my edit was not vandalism. In retrospect, I would not have made the change, in which I made the episode description for "The List" closer to the episode synopsis provided on South Park Studios' website. But the fact is that it was not vandalism. Still, the revert is perfectly acceptable to me. I just wanted to clear that up. 71.125.93.197 01:47, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

I can't speak for him, but maybe he thought you copied it from SPS. Copying stuff from other pages is vandalism. -- Scorpion0422 01:52, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, perhaps what I did was vandalism or near-vandalism in that sense of the word, but isn't the episode description as it is now copied from the SPS site? "The girls in the fourth grade class have made a secret list that rates every boy's looks from cutest to ugliest. When the boys steal the list, they are completely unprepared to deal with the results" is from the SPS site. "The girls in the fourth grade class have made a secret list that rates every boy's looks from cutest to ugliest. When the boys steal the list, they are completely unprepared to deal with the results." is from the article. Those are exactly the same. It seems to me that whoever put that there was also "vandalizing" the page. 71.125.93.197 02:38, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I agree with 71.125.93.197. Seems like a double standard. --Vertigozo —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.251.40.161 (talk) 21:36, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

season 8 episode order

the dates of the episodes are listed ascending, but the episode numbers are mixed as in 801,803,804... what is up with that? --itaj (talk) 20:34, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

It means they weren't aired in the order of their initial production numbers. Grande13 (talk)
Eric tried to exterminate the jews on The passion of the jew (24 march 2004, aired 3rd, #804). On AWESOM-O (14 april 2004, aired 5th, #802) his mother states "Eric is still supposed to be grounded for trying to exterminate the jews two weeks ago". Now, I'm not sure what "production" means, but this line had to be created after they decided on the ordering. --itaj (talk) 15:48, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Just a difference between production order and actual airing order. Jmlk17 19:19, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

The earlier production just means they started it first. In the case above where they decided to air 802 after 804. 802 was in production first, but in this situation they decided to go with 804 first for whatever reason and then made the necessary changes to 802 to reflect plot consistency. Since they are able to crank out an episode in a week or two this isn't out of the norm. Grande13 (talk)

Exactly. :) Jmlk17 20:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Delete them all

How come South park has an artickle for every episode? I know that a lot of King Of The Hill episode articles were deleted because of "Lack of real world information", but most of the South Park episode articles have no reason to be notable, lack any real world information, and are probably just there because more people like South Park than King of The Hill. I think that this is a problem for most TV shows, like family guy. (A few South Park episodes that have caused tons of controversy, like the scientology one, do have enough info for an article though). Your Thoughts? Imjustheretomakebonusstage (talk) 00:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

The difference between the two shows is that in 40 years people will still talk about southpark. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.76.120.123 (talk) 14:26, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Because a lot of South Park humour is from paradies, the episode articles have a lot more cross refrencing than King Of The Hill. But thats just IMO. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.93.129 (talk) 11:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

What good does it do to delete them? Arogi Ho (talk) 22:32, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

You're right. In such a popular show, which is likely to be talked about for centuries, as has been said, the episodes which aren't currently notable should be ridirected, instead of deleted. One day, they may have enough outside information to deserve individual articles. Deleting them would be a waste of time, therefore. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 07:04, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Huh?

It's great to see it's not another joke. I was already excited when I saw "Open Sourcing Three Times is Very Bad" as the tentative title for the 12th season premiere episode ... and I stayed destroyed when I realized that that was a mere vandalism from an IP user >_<. TBA

I can't find where (nor for the life of me remember exactly when I saw it), but I could have sworn that there was a thread on here somewhere mentioning the addition of "TBA" episodes to this list. I thought that there was an agreement to not add a new episode to the list until it had been confirmed by the official studios' website, usually occurring the Sunday or Monday before the new episode's premier. Any thoughts? Jmlk17 20:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I am here regarding that same issue. Their should be a list of the next upcoming episode, or at least one slot saying that more episodes are expected. My guess is that this is the latest episode is the last for the season because the next episodes have not been added, so it must mean that season 12 is only 4 episodes long. Maybe Southpark has been canceled? JayKeaton (talk) 05:01, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
It's not canceled... the show is under contract to run through a 15th season. They just don't issue any information about future episodes until the Sunday night/Monday morning before the Wednesday airings. Jmlk17 05:11, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
