Captain Needa[edit]

Why is Needa missing here? He is human and part of the main movies and has some importance to the plot. 2001:9E8:8086:6800:468A:5BFF:FEA1:E695 (talk) 17:57, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Using the credits as a source...[edit]

TNstingray and Fountains of Bryn Mawr - are these the same credits that list Red Two (Wedge) as being portrayed by Dennis Lawson?  :-) Chaheel Riens (talk) 17:22, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That correction is reflected at Star Wars (film). Clearly the credits of this great film have some inaccuracies. It would be a disservice to the reader to not mention them, whether that be the name of the actor or the character. TNstingray (talk) 18:10, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia doesn't chose sides on these things, it describes the difference. So if a character has X name in X work and Y name in Y work and an actor is misidentified in B or C work - then we say "a character has X name in X work and Y name in Y work and an actor is misidentified in B / C work". Its not just a service to the reader to mention this, its Wikipedia policy. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 18:36, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then why aren't you advocating that viewpoint in this instance, instead of insisting that your interpretation is correct? That's the point I was trying to get across. Chaheel Riens (talk) 19:15, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You actually have to cite another viewpoint, again required by Wikipedia policy. So, done here. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 20:29, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's better. Just seemed weird that it wasn't done in the first place. Chaheel Riens (talk) 06:48, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Links leading nowhere[edit]

Hi, I'm not sure where to classify this but on several related pages (most prominently actors who have been in Star Wars), the page has a link to the actor's Star Wars character (who is not predominant enough to have their own page) on this page, but the character does not appear in this list.

Off the top of my head I have two examples, one is Sofia Coppola as Saché--

"(for example, she appeared as Saché, one of Queen Padmé Amidala's five handmaidens, in George Lucas' 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace)."[[Sofia Coppola#:~:text=(for example, she appeared as Saché, one of Queen Padmé Amidala's five handmaidens, in George Lucas' 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace).[27]|1]]

-- which has the link Saché lead to "List of Star Wars characters#S", however Sache is not listed as a character on this page. This also occurs with actor Keisha Castle-Hughes, who is credited as Queen Apailana in RotS--

"In 2005, Castle-Hughes had a small part as Queen Apailana in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith."2

-- which has the link Queen Apailana lead to "List of Star Wars characters#A", however (again) Queen Apailana is not listed as a character on this page.

I understand that not every character in Star Wars needs to be listed on this page (or indeed should, as there are far too many characters for that to work), however I do think that if you're going to go to the trouble of linking the actor's character (on the actor's page) to this page, the link should at least lead to the character, or else why bother linking it?

Thanks :) -Lis (talk) -Lis (talk) 23:13, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page has gone through major splits and deletions (sample of where Saché, etc went). Looks like the incoming redirects need to be brought up to date or deleted. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 13:21, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

List order - by last name or first?[edit]

Seeing a few errors in the alphabetical order of this list, as I think there's some confusion here (and I apologize if this has been asked before, or if I am missing if this is addressed).

How are we listing these characters? By first or last name alphabetically? A majority of them are by last name though there are people going by first. For example, Cid Scaleback is under C. Same with Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarris. Some do follow the format of sorting alphabetically by last name but there are just a few out of order.

Hoping to fix this and make these changes but want to see if there is a set rule for how this list is organized. Squiddyonwiki (talk) 09:47, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
