Episode notability[edit]

All of the episodes of this series fail the notability guidelines for television episodes. The way for these articles to be improved is through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. That is unlikely to happen, and these only contain overly long plot summaries, trivia, and quotes. Per that, they need to be a small part of this list. Epsiodes 145 and 146 (Finale)[edit]

Why are they in the wrong position on the list? Were they really aired in May before the other ones? It does not sound righ to me.--Alexmar983 (talk) 00:10, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well I don't personally remember the airing order of the last few episodes, but so far all the sources on the article indicate that the designated series finale did, in fact, air in May, with the remaining unaired episodes burned off during the summer, which is totally plausible considering that the show was on a very long hiatus during the second half of season 6. Ok, but we/you should put a clear reference in the paragraph at the beginning where you explain it (I had some problems to find it before writing). Consider also that in the other countries the order was probably the right one (like mine) and giving precedence to the CBS order than the natural production and the broadcast order in the rest of the world (I am not sure, but I guess) can be also considered slightly "localistic". As a non-US resident I would prefer to see them in order with a simple note the specify to pay attention when they were aired in USA for the frist time, which after 13-14 years sounds more like a detail to me. People come here because they are mainly curious about the stories of the episodes, don't they? Than of course, do what you prefer. If you go to the external link listed on the page (http://www.tv.com/shows/the-nanny/episodes/) it shows the dates the episodes originally aired. I do understand a lot of non-US residents visit the site, but since it was originally aired in the US, I think the original US order should be kept because this is the true order of the show even though in reruns they air it as it was initially intended.Housewatcher (talk) 04:51, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

From my point of view of trans"national" wikipedian, that's definitely a de facto harmless but perfect example of the side-effects of "localism" in wikipedia, and how they always cost to be maintained more energy than just removing them. Whatever you prefer, it is fine with me, but please notice the global situation as it is now: if I read correctly, it.wiki has no complete episode order yet (just a list of season years), ru.wiki stops the list at the 4th season, but nl.wiki, fr.wiki, simple english wiki they all use the production order, and es.wiki stops the list at 138th episode before the "critical point" (it is not a work in progress, the "big" editing has been abandoned since 2009), probably because the person who wrote stopped at a point that he/she found "unnatural" (probably a translation). And to me this proves 1) the production order it is the universal one (because 3 of the wikis that arrrive at that point on the table use it, only en.wiki does not) 2) if you don't fix it, you may generate confusion in the other wikis (like the stopped editing on es.wiki), although in a long term in any case they will probably use the production order. In other words, in 1 or 2 or 3 years there will be 8 or 9 wikis that all use the production order in the table, and someone who speaks english or (more simply) an inhabitant of UK or Australia, will come here and change the order of this table too, because that's confusing and since this is en.wiki not "wiki USA", also localistic. I also notice that the change in the table order here was done lately, in old versions of the en.wiki article production order was used as well. So, the reason I wrote this very long paragraph for such a stupid matter it is not becasue I want you to change it (from my perspective it will be changed in any case in the future, and I have no hurry), I am telling you this because I always jump from one wiki to another and I often fix this type of asimmetries (that's a harmless example, but other ones are almost impossible to be removed in an easy way), and I always prefer to spend some minutes to explain them, because on a long term, it is time well spent. I have read through this discussion and decided to ask a member of the Wiki Television Project for the accepted way to list episodes on a list. List by air date is the most conventional. The U.S. air date would be the one that would be used because it is how it was originally broadcasted anywhere and also because DVDs usually retain the original air date. Ratings[edit]

Episode Air Dates[edit]

It seems that starting with edits made on 4 March 2018‎ by Fabrício Fernando, and cascading across further edits made after that point, the First Aired and Last Aired dates for seasons 4-6 in the Series overview section, the years listed in the individual season titles for seasons 4-6, and the individual air dates for all episodes listed for seasons 4-6, were changed and made incorrect. It seems this was a mistaken transposition based on information from the pages cited as soure for the ratings information of the individual episodes. The correct (I think) air dates are available on IMDB and align with the information at the cited sources for the ratings of each episode. 198.84.224.130 (talk) 02:16, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
