Eureka one[edit]

The Eureka one listed here as "U.S. Post Office and Customhouse" appears to me to be possibly the NRHP-listed U.S. Post Office and Courthouse (Eureka, California), by 1912 date of construction and location. But the name is different. Is the name here correct? I am not clear on what is source for the information here. The initial source for all of these pages was the Federal Judicial Center directory of Historic Federal Courthouses. The Eureka page is here, and it is probably the same building since it is, indeed, a courthouse. bd2412 T 13:19, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, does the NRHP have any information about whether the Shaw House (Ferndale, California) was used as a federal courthouse? The article indicates that it was a courthouse and post office. bd2412 T 13:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The NRIS database indicates "Historic subfunction: courthouse; post office; single dwelling" but does not state whether it was a Federal courthouse. I just updated its article a little bit. The definitive good source would be the NRHP nomination document for the place, which could be obtained by request to the National Register in Washington, D.C. Chet Holifield Building[edit]

I've added citation needed tags because I don't think this is a courthouse. It is definitely not in the Southern District of California. I have a slightly more detailed explanation on the Chet Holifield Federal Building talk page. I didn't delete it here because it's possible that it was once used as a courthouse, but I have found no reference to that outside of wikipedia. Swsail (talk) 04:11, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
