Alumni versus famous?[edit]

I got my PhD from Davis. I'd LOVE to have a list of EVERYONE who went through our program, as a sortable table, under "Agricultural and Resource Economics graduates." This page is NOT set up for large numbers of names (a bug, IMO), and there's a debate over "famous." Suggestions on how I can accomplish this goal? Davidzet (talk) 10:36, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A serious suggestion: read and enjoy an alumni directory from your program at UCD, share it with colleagues, but don't make it part of Wikipedia. Notability really does matter; for Wikipedia to be useful to the general public, more widely valuable information shouldn't be overwhelmed by WP:LISTCRUFT. If an individual isn't notable enough to have an existing (or credibly a future) WP article, they shouldn't be listed. See also WP:NOTDIRECTORY. Notability[edit]

No offence to the people listed here but are all of them considered notable alumni? I mean, Andrew Boswell, author of "OCD Model of Addiction" and current doctoral candidate-School of Medicine, Joseph Karalius, Bioinformatician, Bob Biggs, Head Football Coach, University of California, Davis. They look more like just regular successful professionals than any notable alumni to me. Seriously, where's all the nobel laureates and Olympic gold medalists?

There are some notable people int here such as John Hennigan who is the current reigning WWE Intercontinental champion, and the woman who is the secretary for Bush --Fr3nZi3 02:15, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More[edit]

There's more alumni, I know. Our article is lacking... 71.137.196.107 (talk) 02:10, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
