Merge with List of Upstairs, Downstairs characters[edit]

Propose to merge this with List of Upstairs, Downstairs characters. It would work perfectly well as a section within that article. FunkyCanute (talk) 22:12, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I looked into simply adding the new characters into the already existing list, but felt it would add confusion to an already poorly laid out page. And, assuming the BBC will commission a full series in 2011, there will be additional characters to add in the near future. Iamthedoctor2009 (talk) 22:21, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Prince[edit]

Can we be clear about the sons of King George V please! An anonymous (unregistered) editor keeps changing the entry, but has his/her facts and history wrong. He or she appears to be muddling up the sons of King George V. George V had five sons:

Edward (known as David), later Edward VIII, later Duke of Windsor
Albert (known as Bertie), Duke of York, later George VI
Henry, Duke of Gloucester
George, Duke of Kent
John (died in his teenage years)

The first son (Edward) is mentioned repeatedly in the script, but does not actually appear. The fourth son (George) has a more significant role in the series, and is played by Blake Ritson. It was the second son (Albert) who succeeded his brother to the throne, as King George VI. The Upstairs, Downstairs character (George, Duke of Kent) had a career in the Royal Navy, followed by the Civil Service, and then during the war served in the Royal Air Force; he was killed on active service, when his plane crashed. Article title[edit]

I'm holding on justdoit for comments, but surely this should be at List of Upstairs, Downstairs (BBC) characters and not as at present, considering that it is the programme which is BBC-related, not the characters therein. --AlisonW (talk) 00:13, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copy editing[edit]
