Cardiff flag

What happened to Image:Flag_of_Cardiff.gif? I was considering making use of it in a userbox. [talk to the] HAM 20:30, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

wondered the same thing, there is a file here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Cardiffarms.PNG is this appropriate? KevinCarmody 10:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I've noticed that various flag images have vanished from wikipedia over the past few days. No notices on deletion were placed- it was probably the copyright police brigade Astrotrain 10:40, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Rest assured that the Welsh "royal banners" and "battle flag" are items I have drawn entirely myself and the copyright police brigade cannot touch them James Frankcom (talk) 11:27, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Removing pejorative

This page lists "separatist" flags. This term is not neutral, and not acceptable.--MacRusgail (talk) 20:40, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Flag of Wales Before 1959?

I Know wales was not part of england back then, but does/could anybody have/upload a picture of the welsh flag before 1959?--DerynJones (talk) 16:24, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

The Union Flag, or the St George. The idea of a flag for Wales had been raised before 1959, but there was nothing official. Until Y ddraig goch, the only regional flag much in use in the UK was the St Andrew for Scotland, and the St George was accepted as a flag of England and Wales, in which capacity it had served since the Middle Ages. It was taken as representing "England-but-not-Wales" only when a discrete flag for Wales was created. Perhaps a new flag for Engl;and should have been devised at the same time. Colours

Can we do something about the lurid colours of some of the flags. A different tone of red and particularly yellow would be most welcome for the regional flags (Gwynedd, Powys, Dehuebarth etc)James Frankcom (talk) 20:34, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Nationalist Flags section

What's the rationale for having the nationalist flags section? To me they appear to be the flags of four small and currently defunct organisations, none of which are widely recognised or acknowledged today. None of the flags would seem to have any significant cultural relevance in past or present. If any of them were widely used and of cultural or historical significance in the past, perhaps a link to relevant articles might be appropriate, but at the moment I don't see the point in including any of them.

To compare, the List of flags used in Northern Ireland includes some similar nationalist flags, but these flags were and still are widely displayed, with their accompanying movements still being very much public. Theses are the kinds of flags that most people in NI will have seen flying around in normal life, whereas I doubt very many people in wales will have ever seen any of the nationalist flags here outside of this page --109.154.23.128 (talk) 15:35, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
