More Legislation[edit]

There's a lot of 2005 stuff I think should be added. Work Choices, Sale of Telstra, Anti Terror and AT No 2, just for a start. Thoughts on others that need talking about? --mjec

Feel free to add any legislation you think is important. This is far from a complete list. Note that some of the legislation though (sale of Telstra being one) is probably better discussed in the Telstra article, and isn't necessarily notable as a piece of legislation as such. :) Rebecca 09:42, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Defence Act[edit]

There was a Defence Act in 1909 that virually introduced boy conscription. In a bid to provide defence for Australia the federal parliament introduced the above Act to provide Australia with a citizen army. Boys and young men of European descent between the ages of 12 and 26 had to participate in periodical military training. The conscripts were divided in to ages groups: 12- 14 year olds had to complete 90 hours of military training drills and other military activies in the Junior Cadets, 14-18 year olds had to register for Senior Cadets and participate in 64 hours of drills and the like while 18-26 year olds had to train in the citizen militia. Tis Act came in place on 1st of January 1911 and excluded boys and men you were not of Eurpean heritage, including Aborigines and males of Asian Heritage. State Legislation[edit]

There doesn't appear to be a similar list of state legislation for the Australian states. Would this be appropriate? Is anyone working on this? Just assuming that whoever watches this page may also be interested in this... Bernard S. Jansen 04:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd have no objection to someone doing this. I'm not sure it would fit on this page, but if you could come up with a suitable title, you're welcome to create it. However, did you have any specific pieces of legislation in mind for such a list? Rebecca 09:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For starters, I was thinking of writing an article on the Queensland Coal Mining Health & Safety Act and Regulations. Not sure if there are other articles to form a list of. Bernard S. Jansen 11:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose[edit]

This is an incredibly incomplete and extremely selective list. What is its purpose? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:01, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of Acts of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 18:18, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
