Merge with Roman theater list?[edit]

I've been doing a lot of work on the list of Roman theaters. One of the issues that comes up is that most, if not all, existing theaters saw some renovation in the Hellenistic or Roman period, so that the current form is not the older Greek one (with, for example, a circular orchestra), but the later Hellenistic/Roman one (with, again for example, a more or less semi-circular orchestra). So I'm not sure how much sense it makes to distinguish between these two categories, especially when "Roman" is more a chronological than a structural definition anyway.

No. Certainly this is an issue, but some things, geography for one, are still largely distinct. If either of these lists had proper introductions, the issues could be mentioned there. This list is largely useless, as it is actually a list of ancient cities that had theatres - the great majority of the links go to articles on the city with next to nothing on the theatre. The Roman list is certainly better than that. The main thing we need is a proper article on Greek theatre structures - based on the various articles we have on elements of them.
