What is the reason for having this list? Is there some special cultural or political reason that mayors are arrested in Turkey, such as they hold radical political views. Is it a rite of passage? Or is it simply because they might have behaved in corrupt manner or have committed a crime while in office? If it is the latter perhaps it would be a good idea to give a criminal reason why they were arrested, such as the criminal allegations made. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 05:23, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good you ask. As for now, all are politicians of pro-Kurdish parties except for Mehdi Zana, who was an independent but a strong supporter of the Kurdish language and culture. You are right, maybe we should expand on that. I decided to create this article because Kurdish mayors are often dismissed from office and I thought this would be notable.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 06:16, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
