Requested move[edit]

Rationale :   Wrong Spelling for Simultaneous, more formal title

Notice that many artist who held this position isnt mentioned on this list, including Diana Ross, Destiny's Child, Spice Girls, Aretha Franklin, Dido, The Bangles, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Norah Jones and many other artists

I think "List of artists who have achieved simultanious UK and US number-one hits" would be better12bigbrother12 (talk) 04:58, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved this page to "List of artists who have achieved simultaneous UK and US number-one hits" because it is evident the page needed a new title, and this discussion has been ongoing for over three years with very little discussion taking place. 12bigbrother12 (talk) 13:33, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

cleanup tag[edit]

I dont understand where this article is going. I see a short section for Simon & Garfunkel, then one for Rod Stewart, then Men at Work. That last section is... I don't know what it is. An advert for "Crazy in Love"? It goes into this big explanation of chart rules and trivia and commentary. Seems to mention a whole bunch of artists who have not simultaneously been number one in the UK and U.S. Then it just ends. Wouldn't it make more sense to just have this article be a straightforward list? Artist - Title - Song(s) - Date. All this extra stuff is fluff. -- eo 00:41, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, a list would be better for this kind of information. I marked it as such on WikiProjectSongs. Sjsharktank (talk) 07:24, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dangerously In Love-Front.jpg[edit]

Image:Dangerously In Love-Front.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:BridgeWater.jpg[edit]

The image Image:BridgeWater.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

What about Sheena Easton in 1981 with "Morning Train"?[edit]

I am verifying whether Scottish-born Sheena Easton in 1981 had also achieved this distinction with the single "Morning Train." Some sources - if I recall it correctly - say so. Perhaps you could also verify this Rrcs law (talk) 03:37, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It did not reach #1 on the UK Singles Chart. --12345abcxyz20082009 (talk) 16:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up[edit]

I agree with the comments here that the article needs cleaning up. As it is, it's a mess (not to mention including several examples of songs that didn't achieve this). It seems a bit much to have headlines for every artist (particularly if they only have one entry). I've come up with a more straightforward list. It's unfinished as yet, but you can see where I'm going with the singles: User:Tuzapicabit/UK US No.1s. Any thoughts? --Tuzapicabit (talk) 09:43, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, it's all done. Have restructured the whole page and hopefully it's a bit better now.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 09:43, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Short-hand title[edit]

I've added a redirect from Transatlantic number-one hits, since some people will still find the existing title a bit of a mouthful. Deepred6502 (talk) 08:30, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

SUSAN BOYLE[edit]

Despite what the Media says, Susan has not achieved her 2nd simultaneous UK/USA Album, with 'The Gift'. As 'Music Week' has pointed out, it was No.1 in the UK, (1 Week), on W/E 20th November 2010 - but, its No.1 debut, on the USA Chart, will be dated W/E 27th November 2010. It is not a simulaneous No.1 Album, therefore. 86.13.2.211 (talk) 11:24, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ABBA[edit]

ABBA managed it with 2 different Singles. On W/E 9th April 1977 they were No.1 in the UK with 'Knowing Me, Knowing You'. They were also at No.1 in the USA with 'Dancing Queen'. And the No.2 Single, in those Charts, was also by the same Artist. David Soul was at No.2 in the UK with 'Going In With My Eyes Open' & No.2 in the USA with 'Don't Give Up On Us'. 86.13.2.211 (talk) 11:24, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes indeed, and since the article is about artists who have achieved this (rather than songs) it needs to be mentioned. Have done a section on this, which throws up just three others (including Tiffany!).--Tuzapicabit (talk) 23:54, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Complete article[edit]

Please, complete the article with the week/s spent on the top of the lists for the artists of 2010's. Thank U!--181.27.137.82 (talk) 07:30, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Beatles albums[edit]

It could be argued that the UK & US versions of A Hard's Night, Help!, Rubber Soul & Revolver are different. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.88.196.86 (talk) 22:16, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
