Fair use rationale for Image:INCOMPLETEVIDEO.jpg[edit]

Image:INCOMPLETEVIDEO.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Unreferenced Awards Will Soon Be Removed[edit]

Please provide sources for all unsourced awards, I have provided sources for some of them and removed already those that were not related to the act immediately. While providing sources for some of the awards, I noticed that lot of the listed awards for Backstreet Boys do not actually exist, but they have been added to the list, most likely, by fans of Backstreet Boys to make an impression. I will give it some more time for the awards to be referenced, and I will be removing most if not all of those awards that are unsourced. Thank you.--Harout72 (talk) 19:29, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that we are to insert actual Awards only, we are not to add Nominations. This list has been created in hopes to indicate the Awards received by Backstreet Boys.--Harout72 (talk) 06:35, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It seems like we are not going to have any more citations provided by anybody. I will wait another week (until March 10, 2010) and proceed with removals of all unsourced Awards. --Harout72 (talk) 18:09, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Awards and Nominations[edit]

I think it's a better idea to introduce an awards and nominations page as most of their nominations would go unnoticed in an awards page and they need some recognition for their nominations. User:KingdomHearts25 (talk)

Let's just concentrate on providing references for Awards first, then we'll take it from there. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 17:49, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've already added references for a few major awards like the AMAs and VMAs. I'm working on adding more references.Thank You -.--KingdomHearts25 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:39, 25 February 2010 (UTC).[reply]

I was wondering about this. Most other celebrities have "List of awards and nominations" but this page is only for awards? Why?--Krystaleen (talk) 00:46, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The title says Awards not Awards and Nominations.--Harout72 (talk) 22:51, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
that's what I'm asking. Other articles are titled "Awards and nomination" why this one is just Awards? What made the article creator named it like this?Krystaleen (talk) 01:00, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That I don't know, I just began paying attention to what was being inserted by BSB fans, most of which was unsourced. I can't speak for other lists of this kind, but I don't believe there is any significance with listing Nominations. After all, Awards are what count in the end.--Harout72 (talk) 02:14, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Grammy nominations[edit]

To be honest I have no idea whether it was 4 or 5 nominations that year, however this press release stated that Millennium was honored with 5 Grammy nominations [1] now I don't know if that's in one year or if the album got nominated again the following year.--Krystaleen 04:29, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This source supports three nominations for Millennium ("Pop Album", "Record of the Year", "Album of the Year"). I realize that metrolyrics.com is not a plausible source, but I think neither is the Burger King Corporation. Now I'm confused, which is it? Three or five for Millennium?--Harout72 (talk) 05:02, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Does Grammy have some sort of an archive or nomination history? I'm confused too.--Krystaleen 05:08, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Grammy's site seems to have a searchable database for winners but not nominations. However, according to Billboard, Millennium has received two nominations only, one for "Album of the Year" and another for "Best Pop Album". The next page of the same article, states four Grammy nominations in total in 2000 for Backstreet Boys. The other two nominations are for "I Want It That Way" (posted on the previous page), "Record of the Year" and "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or a Group with Vocal".--Harout72 (talk) 17:56, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

i cant believe proffessional editor like harout getting so confused and lost they won 5 in 2000

  • millennium album of year
  • millennium pop album of year
  • i want it that way song of year
  • i want that way record of year
  • i want it that way best performance by duo or group

best performance in 2001 ( you said in ur edit summary) was for SHOW ME THE MEANING now i dont see what is confusing about this 106.213.11.158 (talk) 23:52, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly suggest that thoroughly read what's in the source provided instead of hitting the REVERT button. Now, this source, which supports the said Grammy nominations does not have FIVE nominations for 2000 within, it contains FOUR nominations for 2000:
  • Album: Millennium Album of the Year (2000 Grammy Awards)
  • Record of the Year (2000 Grammy Awards)
  • Pop Vocal Group (2000 Grammy Awards)
  • Album Millennium: Pop Album (2000 Grammy Awards)
It also contains one 2001 Grammy nomination:
  • Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (2001 Grammy Awards)
It contains one Grammy nomination for 2002:
  • Best Pop Performance-Duo or Group with Vocal (2002 Grammy Awards)
It also has one Grammy nomination for 1999:
  • New Artist (1999 Grammy Awards)
All in all, that is SEVEN in that source. Now if you have another more reliable source supporting your EIGHT Grammy nominations, including FIVE for 2000, bring it to my attention. Otherwise, stop disrupting the list, or I will request a page protection.--Harout72 (talk) 02:54, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

your source is metrolyics which is 100% unreliable isnt that a bit hypocritic?106.213.11.158 (talk) 04:55, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As I suggested above, if you have a more reliable source, provide it. But don't make changes unless you have provided the source. Everything we write MUST be verifiable.--Harout72 (talk) 08:14, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The nomination for "Song of the Year" in this source is for songwriters Andreas Carlsson, Max Martin NOT for backstreet Boys. Backstreet Boys have had FOUR nominations in 2000, see this Billboard article, under the title "Santana Leads Grammy Nominations", it states: Backstreet Boys and some others FOUR EACH. I hope this clarifies things a bit for the anonymous IP.--Harout72 (talk) 16:26, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I was looking up the band's Grammy nominations and Google stated that it was nine nominations, not eight. Can someone clear that up for me? 108.46.251.85 (talk) 08:27, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa! Wasn't I Want It That Way nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal because it should under that? 108.46.251.85 (talk) 08:45, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
