While there is 1950s legislation that defines the CPUSA as a conspiracy to overthrow the government masquerading as a political party, that didn't stop them from running candidates for President for five elections after the legislation was passed. That's an odd sort of ban and shouldn't qualify for this list. TMLutas (talk) 14:25, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it is perfectly reasonable to include it. The Communist Control Act of 1954 was involved in multiple court cases such as Arizona's attempt to bar the Communist Party from the ballot. Many other states also had bans on the party and its members from working in the state government. Jon698 (talk) 17:17, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
