Timeline[edit]

Could a table be added, or an additional entry, to state WHEN a certain pathogen was ranked in a specific biosafety level?

For example, SARS is listed, but since which year? Right now the article here does not answer the year, so it could be 2000 or 1950 or any other year. 2A02:8388:1641:8380:3AD5:47FF:FE18:CC7F (talk) 23:04, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is a list of select agents, not BSL4 agents[edit]

Absolutely correct. Having specific handling requirements does not mean BSL4. BSL4 agents are those for which there are no vaccine or treatment and are fatal if contacted. For instance Monkey pox IS NOT a BSL4 agent. Monkey pox is rarely deadly and resolves without treatment in four to eight weeks. This article should be removed, it's misleading at the very least. The CDC publishes plenty of exacting documentation for BSL containment requirements. EdwinJaufmann (talk) 15:42, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
