New York City[edit]

There are many bridges 135' or higher in and around NYC that are still not listed in this fairly old article. See List of bridges and tunnels in New York City if anyone has time & interest to add some here. Also, there really should be a defined minimum for listing, else this list could become massive. There was only one below 130' (a 70' viaduct) & it's been removed. How about a 130' minimum, stated in the lead? Brian W. Schaller (talk) 02:10, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Began adding NYC area bridges. Would like to add a 130' minimum (clearance below) at top of article. Unless there are objections, will do so in a few days. Also, any objections to removing the 7 listed red-linked bridges with no refs? Probably should have a go at stub articles for those bridges first though, if there's a good ref for the heights. Pecos River Highway Bridge[edit]

Why is it the Pacos River Bridge is not on the list when it is 273' http://www.ozona.com/pecos-river-highway-bridge foobar (talk)

The list is incomplete & no one's added it yet. Go ahead, as you suggested it. The Pecos River Highway Bridge has no article yet, though the railroad bridge does (& is listed) - Pecos River High Bridge. raise the height limit?[edit]

there are two dozen bridges listed at 135 feet tall - is this a Coast Guard or other military requirement or something? either way, it seems that size is pretty unremarkable. should the height limit for this page be raised to something like 140 feet? -MJ (talk) 23:43, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

I've reverted a good-faith page move. We don't normally use qualifiers in this way unless distinguishing from another article such as a hypothetical list of bridges by structural height. There should also be a space before the parentheses. We could move the page to something like List of bridges in the United States by clearance, or simply leave it at the current title, or make it more consistent with the global List of highest bridges.
