Single Player vs. Multiplayer[edit]

Is there a good reason why this list is separate from List of multiplayer browser games? I don't think any other game lists make this distinction. 2fort5r (talk) 08:37, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the long wait ;) I spun this list off/created it because the 'multiplayer' list is more of a 'massively multiplayer' one. I think the multiplayer one should be renamed massively multiplayer and this should be left for standard games. Someoneanother 12:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Open Web Games[edit]

This is duped from Browser_games as it applies equally here. I have an interest, over 10 years experience creating web games and resources for people with low literacy and or learning disabilities. Since not later than 1998 these have been designed to be accessible and conform to web standards and specifications. Flash, java and other plugins were not used. I understand this pages describes the fact of such games, but as faict fails to link to any external or internal resources or examples, whereas there are quite a number of Flash games included.

Recently Mozilla launched Game On, and had well over 100 entries, of which XGS hosted at http://www.peepo.com was one (mine). XGS can be played with a broad variety of input devices such as touchscreen, mouse, keyboard and hands free. Accessible Flash games are extremely rare, when found at all.

Why does the Browser game listing refer almost solely to Flash games?

Why is there no mention at all of accessibility?

Why were my edits removed?

Please dont just nod towards standards-built games, get out there, review and play a few, and include some relevant information.

Else this just appears to be a plug for Adobe Flash! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Signbrowser (talkcontribs) 19:00, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Read WP:LIST. We don't add game without article or at least referrence for its notability. L-Zwei (talk) 06:00, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DMOZ link[edit]

The DMOZ link is not dead but the page states that the games are no longer available. They are not at the mirror site either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.211.63.232 (talk) 06:44, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Submachine[edit]

Why are Submachine 3 and 4 mentioned in the List, but not 1-3, 5-10 or the spinoffs of the Submachine (series)? – cave2596 talk 18:04, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It would be better as one article with 2 sections: single- and multiplayer. -Pmffl (talk) 04:04, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with that. Matingholami (talk) 17:07, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question: are there any (or many?) browser games with both single- and multi-player modes? I'm leaning towards supporting the merge, but I'm wondering if the difference is that important? I mean, maybe we could merge List of text-based massively multiplayer online role-playing games as well? Woodroar (talk) 19:32, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea to merge that one too. (I didn't know it existed.) To be clear, I suggested single- and multi- as the categories because that's how the existing articles are divided. But a merged article could be organized another way if it would be better. -Pmffl (talk) 01:21, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
