Canada stats updated to 2017

I agree with the point made regarding Misleading Title. Is this is Condo ownership rate as well? I think the answer is yes.

Per Stats Canada 2019 report https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/12-581-x/2019001/h-l-eng.htm, I've updated Canada down 1.3 to 66.3 for 2017.

Per World Bank, I'd like to suggest that lists here take on a backdating format as well, showing all available records from past years.

Stats 1990 2000 2010 2013 2014 2015 2017 Canada 67.1% 66.3% ...

Misleading title?

I'm looking from the Austrian market perspective, and from this POV the title has two flaws:

• "home" is usually perceived as a single-family home (German: haus), not the urban midrise cell (German: Wohnunng) more common in Vienna or Linz.
• Even accounting for cells and flats as true homes, ownership rate in Austria is not so straightforward. The number of 60% is sort of correct but in includes units in cooperative-owned urban buildings. This kind of public housing, co-financed by the municipalities and the tenants, isn't really ownership (their tenant-"owners" cannot legally sell them) but they aren't rental units either. I suspect that the national differences in public housing policy make a clear-cut, black-or-white comparison impossible.
• Austrian provinces have the highest recorded spread between max and min ownership rate, 17% to 76%, of all OECD countries [1].NVO (talk) 17:47, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Living with parents

Home ownership in this table is highest where intergenerational living is highest. That's not the same as really owning your own, individual dwelling. Rdgth (talk) 06:46, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Order of countries in list?

Some of the countries seem to be out of order. For instance, Lithuania is ranked as #3, with 89.9%, but Slovakia is ranked lower (#4) with a higher percentage 90.3%. Is this a mistake or is their a reason for this discrepancy, and if so, should it be made more clear? PubliusHadrianus (talk) 07:12, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

North Korean (and any communist regime)

It doesn't seem relevant to include the home ownership statistics for North Korea or other communist (or whatever you would like to describe the DPRK's government system as) countries, as home ownership just isn't a concept that matters or has any standing. It makes sense to measure it from a western standpoint, and that's fine, but if you remove the western bias from the equation and care to measure this data more objectively in a way that makes more sense to global readers, then including communist home ownership statistics doesn't make sense. Admittedly this is the English version of wikipedia, so a good amount of readers will be from western countries, but not all of them. I've removed the North Korean statistics, if you disagree feel free to revert the edit, and just reply here with your reasoning. EskyThief (talk) 00:44, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
