Inclusion criterion[edit]
Anyone considering adding a demoparty to this list should keep in mind the following from the Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists) guideline:
"Ideally each entry on the list should have a Wikipedia article but this is not required if it is reasonable to expect an article could be forthcoming in the future."
To test the reasonableness of your expectations, you may want to create the article on the demoparty first and then add it to this list. UnitedStatesian 15:22, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- If we have a notability debate, several people will die. Since this is a list, I don't see what was so bad with "Events on this list are assumed to have taken place in public locations and attracted at least 50-100 attendees." So far, it's been maintainable, with well under a hundred entries. --Vossanova o< 17:16, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I have changed all external links to Wikipedia article links, to at least give the parties on the list with no article yet a chance for one to be made before they are deleted. If articles are made, the external link can go on those pages. --Vossanova o< 18:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
The Party Fixed[edit]
I fixed the date range for THE PARTY. The first THE PARTY was in December 1991. It was AMIGA only, no PC. If you remember, the winner was the 45 minutes long demo "odyssey" by Alcatraz (which caused single handedly the introduction of a time limit for demos of 10 minutes from that point on). Second was the legendary demo "Hardwired" by Crionics and The Silents and 3rd was the Razor 1911 Megademo. --roy<sac> Talk! .oOo. 02:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Additional columns?[edit]
I'm thinking "Defunct [yes/no]" and "Demoscene-only [yes/no]"... Thoughts? // Gargaj (talk) 10:33, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- We can assume that any "Years" column with an ending year means the party is defunct. As for "demoscene-only", what's the criteria - whether or not there are gaming competitions? It can be rather subjective. --Vossanova o< 19:53, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Consistency[edit]
Some links are "... (demo party)" like Assembly (demo party) and others are "... (demoparty)" like Revision (demoparty). Which format shall we decide on to have consistency? -- Ϫ 17:24, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
