Usefulness of list

What is an environmental book? I don't think this is particularly useful, but will wait for a reply before considering listing it for deletion.

Please stop creating articles about all of these books, those articles are not useful and most of them are not notable, as per WP:BK. Take a look there before creating more. Many of these ought to be deleted. |→ Spaully 15:43, 20 May 2007 (GMT)

I'm confused. Are you against the list or against individual book articles? As for categorizing and identifying environmental books, in the real world that isn't a problem. In libraries, under the Dewey decimal system such books can be found under the call numbers 333, 363, 574 and 639. In bookstores, there are environmental book sections - see Amazon.com [[1]] - and there are published reading lists and anthologies. In other words, environmental books are defined and definable. Spaully, was your comment above addressed to me? Of all the books that have ever been listed on this page until now, as far as I know, I created articles for only seven (7) of them. Since most of my editing is of lists, I started them as stubs so that someone else can expand them.
Many of the articles for entries on this list were already in existence when I started it on 18 July 2006. A researcher can use it to study what has been published about the environment. This list has been accepted for ten (10) months; are you questioning its usefulness now? -- Wavelength 04:55, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

I have added what is hopefully a clearer definition at the head of the article as to what should belong on this list. Alan Liefting 04:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Change to page title

I think the page title is strange. If a book is about economics, do you talk about "economical books". If it's about oil, would you put it in a "list of oily books"? I would suggest "List of Books about the Environment". Ricklaman 00:46, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I just did a Google search for the words "environmental" and "books" and another Google search for the phrase "environmental books", and, each time, I found many results with the phrase "environmental books". -- Wavelength 14:24, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Please see the first paragraph at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization). -- Wavelength 14:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
One talks about "economics books" and "oil books". The current title or your suggestion of "List of Books about the Environment" are appropriate but a quirk in the use of the word "environmental" and "environment" makes the current title more appropriate. Perhaps a more accurate title would be "List of books on environmental issues. Alan Liefting 04:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
