Difference between category and list[edit]

I've been working on this list but then I found Category:Film archives. Is there any point for me to continue to work on this if there's a category list? Semccraw (talk) 14:39, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for working on the list. There are times on Wikipedia that it seems a list is pointless because the category already exists. I don't think this is the case here, because until someone creates subcategories for all the archives by nation or kind, this list is useful because it divides the archives by nation. Also, Google searches don't turn up the category as much as the list, so more people look at lists more. Michitaro (talk) 15:35, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Content and Reference[edit]

I added some archives that I discovered through the National Film Preservation Board. The list seems to favor developed countries, particularly Europe and America. Further research would be beneficial. Mcgowanlianna (talk) 19:56, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moving question from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Libraries/Cleanup listing[edit]

I'd like to start working on the List of film archives page. I noticed that this page begins with a list followed by a table. Any advice on how to get started with a small step on a clean-up project? And if anyone is interested in collaborating or mentoring me, that would be welcome.
