I suggest the proposed merging from List of films featuring extraterrestrials to bring the table format, as the recent table automatic ~~reordering~~ sorting functions could be used for a better usability. Waldir 17:32, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The table in List of films featuring extraterrestrials would be an improvement, but without the genre section or the icons. Adding those definitions could be considered original research, and smiley faces aren't too encyclopedic. Even though you created List of films featuring extraterrestrials when List of alien films already existed, I prefer List of films featuring extraterrestrials as a title as it's more in line with other lists, so List of alien films should be renamed/moved at some point. And yes, i agree that List of films featuring extraterrestrials is a better name. feel free to move contents from this article to there. OK, as it's only a small list I'll move the table here and turn List of films featuring extraterrestrials into a redirect, then request a page rename for List of alien films, so the redirect can be changed over. List of alien films → List of films featuring extraterrestrials — More accurate and encyclopedic title. Proposed title is currently a redirect to the existing title (see above merge discussion). This renaming would also conform to other existing articles and categories relating to fictional extraterrestrials such as Extraterrestrial life in popular culture, Category:Fictional extraterrestrial species, and Category:Fictional extraterrestrials. Toy Story[edit]

My wife tells me that the 'aliens' in Toy Story are actually just toys. Thus, I don't think this should count since toy aliens don't match the definition of extraterrestrial in any way at all, so please remove Toy Story from the list. --Brindy666 (talk) 15:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cloverfield[edit]

At the end of Cloverfield, it clearly shows the monster dropping into the water from out of the sky. This means that the monster IS from outer space, and DOESN'T come from the ocean like it says at the bottom. Exclusion Criteria?[edit]

This page is, in a sense, omnivore: I see that it contains films as 2010 or Contact, where the existence of extraterrestrial life is essential to the plot, films as Alien or the Thing, where the nature of the alien is again important, films as "Star Wars" and a part of the space opera where aliens are only exotic populations, but not the centre point of the plot, and films where the aliens are present only as a gag.
