Defunct Clubs Former Scottish Football League members Why are Rangers FC [1872/2012] Not included in the list of former clubs? Cutting back[edit]

As there are many hundreds of clubs in amateur and welfare football, a full listing in this article isn't practical. As such, I've started cutting back on those listed here, so it can be limited to those with proven notability, i.e. those with an article. This will mainly be limited to those who have qualified for the (senior) Scottish Cup, or have previously appeared in higher grades of football. Many of those previously listed were only there because they once had articles, which have now been deleted or redirected. Keeping them listed over any other amateur clubs makes the list look somewhat random.

In addition, I have limited the list of university teams to those where the actual football club is notable enough to have an article. Several of the links were just to the universities themselves, making it a list of universities rather than of football clubs! Jellyman (talk) 11:25, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
