Redundant -- Let's merge three lists[edit]

Should be merged into the list of headgear article.--Rochelimit (talk) 15:17, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. I stumbled across both while looking for a specific type of hat. There's also a fairly lengthy list of hats in Hat#Styles even though it says "This is a short list of some common and iconic examples of hats." I suspect the temptation is always there for people to add to the list when the get to that Hat page, but I think we could shorten it and maybe add a note there to put any hat styles/types into the list of headgear. I'll try to merge & clean up... soon?? Ping me if I haven't done it in the next week or so. Elf | Talk 19:49, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Kepi is not French, kepi been British/German, Balkan, Austrian way before the NWO faves (the French)[edit]

Anent the kepi hat it misreads: "A French military hat with a flat, circular top and visor"

The kepi shape of hat foregoes it's French donning by yonks. Even being an British and German railwaymens hat way, way before the kepi shape was mythologised has a French look and meted out amongst the French army, police, foreign legion and police. One heedsts, that the bearskin is not listed on this herein wiki has 'a British military hat'. Sick of the NWO/French/Francophones spiking English wiki pages with tributes and fairytales to France. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.117.210 (talk) 20:19, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why not use Cowboy hat?[edit]

Why not use "Cowboy hat" on the list, which is what it is commonly called, instead of "Stetson," which is a brand name, as there are other manufacturers of cowboy hat? It's against Wikipedia:NPOV, preferring a brand name, instead of the common name? Briarfallen (talk) 03:30, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

'Bonnet' is missing[edit]

Capotains Did NOT Have Buckles[edit]

That's an invention of some 19th Century illustrator that unfortunately has taken hold of the popular imagination. I looked in Wikimedia Commons for a better picture showing a real capotain but none of them seemed like they'd work well on this page. 2601:602:8800:7DF0:D4B5:6373:43C6:B80B (talk) 18:21, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
