confusing - weight - dynamic not static force[edit]

says " a coefficient of 0.09 indicates that a building is designed that 0.09 of its weight can be applied horizontally during an earthquake." presumably means that it should withstand a [peak] horizontal acceleration of the ground of 0.09g - but for how long ? and what profile (sine wave?) and at what frequency ? - need a good RS - Rod57 (talk) 03:54, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
