Republic vs. region of Italy[edit]

  • In order to avoid confusion is better to refer to Italy as State (Republic of Italy). In fact Italy, as geographical region is something different and encompasses other islands as Corsica, Malta, Gozo, Cherso/Cres, Lussino/Losinj,Pelagosa/Palagruza, etc. On the other hand Lampedusa, Lampione and Linosa dont belong to Italy as geographical region.--Deguef (talk) 07:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, I agree with the change you made – this would also apply to islands in lakes which belong to the Swiss part of the Po basin. The Isole di Brissago spring to mind. Ian Spackman (talk) 08:02, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grouping[edit]

I used the geospatial coordinates to fix the grouping of islands. Most of the coordinates come from either GeoNames or Google Maps. I could not figure out the reference for several of the Skeeries, ie rocks or shoals, that were not in GeoNames.
