It would be good to have some more background by what measure, i.e. by tonnage produced/time, by employees, by slipways, by ships produced/time, by mere square footage? There are numerous measures by which someone could claim to be the biggest shipyard. The list also seems a bit western hemisphere centric in the old days. How about Zheng He's shipyard or some of the Arabian shipyards in previous years? This list definitely needs more and better references. pseudonymJake Brockmantalk 06:58, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nice article idea, but references that support comparisons in various years will be hard to come by. The WWII figures were easy. I wouldn't fight hard a PROD or AfD. Rhadow (talk) 16:59, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
